August has always felt a little bit like a bittersweet month. Probably because for the longest time it signified the end of summer and the start of a new school year. Now that I’m not in school, I can enjoy August a little bit more and realize that while it’s the end of summer it also leads into the best season: fall! This August in particular definitely carries a lot of feelings of change as Matthew and I leave behind the season in our lives as a married couple without kids, and enter one where we welcome our newest family member. It’s a new and different kind of change, but one we’re looking forward to!
Another thing I’m really excited about for fall is being able to get back into my regular clothes. Shopping will get a whole lot easier! Hopefully, anyways! This month, for my August Edit, I have fresh, transitional pieces on my mind, like this pretty striped blouse and this modern denim pencil skirt. I love wearing pink during fall, especially with rich colors like burgundy {remember this outfit last year?} Karen Walker always makes my favorite sunglasses and I’ve been loving this new silhouette. While tortoise might be more versatile, the clear white is a lot more fun!
What do you all think about the necktie scarf trend? I haven’t tried it yet, but I feel like fall is definitely the season for it! It adds a preppy vibe to outfits. Plus, there are so many great prints to choose from!
