Throughout my pregnancy, I’ve done my best to try to incorporate natural skincare products. There are the obvious no-nos, like salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide, but there are a lot of other chemicals in products that you might not even think of. Since they say that products you apply topically can still be penetrated through your skin and into the bloodstream, I tried to pay attention to what I was buying and using. Here are some of my natural skincare faves that I’ve been loving throughout my pregnancy:
NATURAL SKINCARE FAVES
Once you start using a toning spray, it can be hard to stop! I love how refreshing this feels after I wash my face. This toning spray helps tighten pores and smoothes skin, prepping it for moisturizing.
This product just feels so luxe, especially because of the packaging! This serum is infused with one-day fresh Greek saffron, which is known for its incredible antioxidant power. It’s supposed to help correct the signs of aging, like fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone and discoloration, and loss of firmness. I usually will apply a few drops of this in the morning or at night and follow it up with a moisturizer.
I’ve talked about this mask many times in the past and it’s definitely one of my favorites. I love Tata Harper’s products in general, which are all natural as well! This mask smells amazing and leaves my skin feeling so much more energized. It’s really geared towards fighting the signs of aging from exposure to environmental toxins, so it’s especially great if you live in a city, or you’ve been traveling. Plus, the mask is a pretty dusty pink color which I love!
This is another Korres product that I’ve loved using! It’s a 24 hour moisturizing cream and it’s great day or night. The moisturizer contains wild rose oil, which is a natural source of vitamin C. It helps repair fine lines and skin discolorations. There’s also an ingredient from a desert plant that’s known for its ability to provide continuous moisturization. I’d definitely recommend this if your skin runs on the dry side.
I’ve really fallen in love with oils lately. You can use this one every day, or you can use it a few times during the week. It’s super lightweight and absorbs into the skin quickly. I feel like it helps give my skin a lot more moisture and it always feels 1000% times better in the morning. This oil also contains a natural retinol product, which helps fight breakouts. Breakouts were definitely my biggest annoyance during pregnancy!
You’re not supposed to consume too much caffeine during pregnancy, so I got it through my eye cream instead! This natural eye cream contains extracts of coffee seeds, as well as vanilla, so it smells amazing. The cream increases circulation to brighten dark spots and also reduces puffiness. My mom struggles with puffy eyes and she’s noticed a difference using it too!
Do you have any natural beauty faves? I’d love to hear! I’ve really enjoyed using these types of products during pregnancy so I know I’ll continue incorporating them after as well. I should do this regardless of the baby right?! It’s just nice to know what you’re putting on your skin is safe and good for you.
