Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you all are having a great weekend! Did any of you do my wellness challenge last week? Let’s discuss! And I have a new one for the week ahead!!

Recap: Wellness Challenge No. 1 Drink 16 oz of water first thing in the morning

How did this go for you guys? I did it every day and noticed that it filled me up more quickly. Usually, I make breakfast and drink my coffee within 20 minutes of waking up each morning, but when I was drinking the 16oz of water I sometimes wasn’t hungry until 30 minutes later. I also felt like drinking the water kept me more regular and helped flush out those toxins from the previous night. There were a few days where I was like “Geez this is a lot of water,” but I had to remind myself that I didn’t need to chug it all at once. Drinking water first thing in the morning is something I’m definitely going to try to make a habit, though. Water is so refreshing, especially after not having any all night. If I can reach for water first thing, instead of dehydrating myself further with coffee, that has to be good for my health. What did you think about it? Is this a habit you’d stick with?

My next challenge is definitely a little more daunting, but I think it’s a good one. The Wellness Challenge No. 2 is to stop using your phone past 8 pm at night! Ah! Just typing that makes me a little nervous. I don’t know if I can do it but I’m definitely going to try. I feel like my nights are my special time with Matthew after the baby goes to sleep. We’re able to eat dinner and catch up one to one. If I can put my phone away I think that would be healthy not only for our relationship as a couple but also for me personally. If I’m not on my phone, maybe I’ll be reading a book, watching a TV show, or listening to a podcast. Of course, I might still have nights where I need to work on my laptop, but if I take away the distraction of my phone, perhaps I’ll get more done. Also, for health purposes, it’s important to limit screen time before bed. I haven’t had too many issues falling asleep lately since I’ve been diffusing oils in our room, but I do think the screen time is activating towards our brains. This is going to be a challenge for me but I’m determined to give it a try!
