Happy Wednesday friends! As a mom of a baby you guys know I have struggled to find my alone time. Every time I get a minute to myself I’m usually catching up on work or running errands. Any other moms relate? Well, I’ve found my new favorite thing to do to unwind and escape {even for just an hour} during the day!

I realize I spend too much time inside and have been craving fresh air and sun lately. What better way to have a mini escape than a lovely picnic outside with a good book? Today I am sharing my tips on how to have a one hour escape at home.

This month I’m starting the book See Me by Nicholas Sparks. I decided to go with this book because I love how Nicholas Sparks’s books transport me into the story. This book has been so fun to listen to so far. I get all the butterflies! It’s a dramatic story based on two lovers crossing paths and the man showing her what life is truly about. However, the woman’s past comes back to haunt her and her budding relationship. Ah, so good!

Tips on How to Have a One Hour Escape

I decided to make my escape super simple and practical to do. While Augustine was napping one day I threw together a picnic and some essentials for laying out. Fix yourself some small bites: I went with some yummy cheeses, a crusty baguette, and fresh fruit. I also made myself some sparkling water with lemon {so refreshing}. As nice as a glass of rosé would be, it was in the middle of the day!

Don’t forget to grab a blanket and hat to enjoy the beautiful sunshine and relax. If you’re a mom, don’t forget your baby monitor, too, haha! I so enjoyed taking this time for myself to escape to another world even if it was just for an hour. I’m definitely going to try and do this more often during the warm summer months!

What are your favorite ways to escape for an hour during the day? I’d love to hear of some new ways to try out!
