Summer calls for a lot of essentials, especially when it comes to motherhood. We spend much more time outside and I find myself needing things for Augustine I wouldn’t necessarily need during cooler times of the year. I love to take walks to the park during the day and give Augustine {and myself} some fresh air for the day, even if it is over 80 degrees out. I’m always reaching for sunscreen and Augustine’s hat {how cute does he look in it}. Today I’m sharing my summer diaper bag essentials!
My Summer Diaper Bag Essentials
Diaper Bag- I’ve been using this bag from MariasBag that is perfect for summer. It was actually designed by one of my Instagram friends and 20% of the proceeds go to support the Cambiando Vidas School in Guatemala. There are a lot of great compartments inside that make it easy to keep all the baby stuff organized. You could also use this bag if you aren’t a mom though. It would be great for work, or even to travel with!
Sunscreen – Sunscreen is a must for summer, especially for delicate baby skin! I’ve been using a few different ones. I like this one from Derma-E and also one from Babyganics!
Insect Repellent– Because there are some gross bugs outside, I have an insect repellent in my bag just in case! It helps to naturally keep gnats, flies and mosquitos away!
Sun Hat– I think we’re a little paranoid about sun protection around here but better to be safe than sorry, right?! I know a sunburn is inevitable but we really want to prevent one at all costs! We have a few sun hats for Augustine. I like this one because it’s reversible, and this one from Joules is in a super soft jersey material.
Wet/Dry Bag with a Change of Clothes- I always bring a change of clothes for Augustine just wet/dry bag in case! I’ve gotten some cute new outfits for him from Boden {like this fun tee and pair of shorts he’s wearing, and this shark tee in the bag!}. I keep them in a that comes in handy for a soiled outfit, or even holding a dirty diaper.
Diapers and Wipes- Just got these surfboard diapers from Honest that I love! The Honest diapers weren’t my favorite for newborn but they work better now. As for wipes, I love the ones from Parasol. They’re super absorbent and I usually only need one!
Toy- Sophie la Giraffe is one of our favorite on-the-go toys! She definitely comes in handy when Augustine is teething!
Insulated Bottle Bag– I will put a bottle in here if we’re going to be gone for awhile and I need to feed Augustine on the go. I like that there’s a spot for a freezer pack too. I’ll usually put 1 bottle in here, and also some solid foods that are good for him to eat on the go. This food container is great!
