Is it just me or does everyone’s hair and skin take a bit of a hit during the summer? Between all the sun, chlorine, sweat, and sunscreen, I find my skin and hair needs a little refresh by the time fall arrives. Clogged pores, dull skin, dry hair, the works. For September, I’m planning on lots of exfoliation and allll the moisture please. I’m hoping the products I’m trying for my monthly beauty review will be just the hair and skin fixes I need!

Kerastase Nutritive Masquintense
My hair has definitely been on the dry side these last few weeks, so it’s time for a good deep condition. I’ve always had good experiences with Kerastase products, so I’m hoping that this moisturizing hair mask will be no different!
Naturally Serious Mask-Imum Revival Hydra-Plumping Mask
My skin deserves a little masking time too! This mask promises to help detox your skin from free radicals, dead cells, and pollution caused by sun, sweat, and environmental stress. As those are exactly the issues I am trying to combat, I think this mask sounds pretty perfect. I’m planning on trying this mask before bed tonight!
Who could you trust more to help with a detox than Goop? I love that this scrub is full of good for your skin oil. It’s seriously such a timesaver to exfoliate and moisturize at the same time! With a mix of five different salts and cold-pressed moringa, pure unfiltered rose hip, and organic extra virgin olive oils, I should have pretty smooth skin after using this product.
Wait a minute, we have one more scrub coming! I am so bad about applying lip balm when I’m out and about and this summer, my forgetfulness has really taken its toll. Enter an adorable mini scrub designed to be gentle enough to use on your lips. I know this lip scrub is really beloved, so I can’t wait to try it. I’m hoping I’ll be able to keep it in my routine all fall and winter as that’s when my lips are driest.
Ole Henriksen Glow Cycle Retin-ALT Power Serum
I take my morning skincare routine as seriously as my nighttime one so I love that this serum is designed for daytime use. So many skincare products that fight acne, discoloration, and aging can only be used at night because they cause sensitivity to sun exposure. I love that this serum is designed to fight all of those issues, but during the day. I’ll still be following this with a sunscreen, as any products with acid can cause sun sensitivity, but I’m optimistic this serum will be gentle enough for daily use.

BeautyBio The Perfector 4-in-1 Skin Perfecting Silk SPF 30
To be honest, I’m not sure I would say this product is worth the hefty price tag. Maybe it was me, but I was expecting this product to also be like a skin tint. It definitely looks like it will be when I pump it into my hand, and it also says so on the label, but I don’t feel like it gave me any sort of real coverage. Or perhaps it was just too light for me to really notice. It’s a good SPF though and blended well with my makeup. If you have flawless skin already, you might like this better than I did.
Supergoop! Invincible Setting Powder SPF 45
I liked this SPF setting powder! The fact that I could just throw this in my bag and go made it extremely convenient. And I like that it has an SPF of 45. The higher the better, in my opinion! I think this would be a product I use more in the summertime, or when I travel so that I can touch up on the go.
Oh, these toner pads are so great! I used them sometimes to remove my makeup and other times as a toner. It does a pretty decent job at removing makeup, although I usually needed something separate for my eyes. I liked how hydrating the pads were though and how amazing they smell and made my skin feel. I would definitely recommend trying these, even a small pack, to see what you think! I’m always impressed by Arcona!
Pureology Style + Protect Refresh & Go Dry Shampoo
This dry shampoo is a keeper! I really love Pureology’s products {I used this shampoo earlier in the year and it is now one of my all-time favorites!}. Pureology’s dry shampoo worked its magic but didn’t make my hair feel dry or crunchy. In fact, it still feels very soft after using it. The smell is also amazing!
Vintner’s Daughter Active Botanical Serum
I’m saving the best for last! I really really love this oil. They say serum but it has an oil consistency. I’ve been using 6 drops in the evening and press it into my skin like the directions say. I love how it smells and makes my skin feel. I don’t need to add a moisturizer on afterwards and I feel like it did a great job hydrating my skin and also evening out the tone. This past month, I noticed a lot less redness, which is one of the benefits apparently, and there were even days where I felt confident enough going makeup free. Rarely happens, let me tell ya! I know the price point on this product is high but I read that the owner doesn’t cut any corners and uses the best methods possible to extract the ingredients for the serum. You can read about the process here. Apparently, other companies told her she needed to be more commercial and use filler oils, but she refused. So I definitely believe in the product and I’m so happy to continue using it. I’ve used other oils and honestly, they don’t come close!
