Holiday Gift Guide: For the Coffee Lover

But first, COFFEE

If you have a friend that loves coffee, go straight to the beans first! We’ve been drinking Laughing Man® Coffee lately {they have it at Target!}, and I love that it not only tastes beyond delicious, but that they donate a portion of sales from every purchase to support coffee-farming communities and programs around the world. This means fair wages and opportunities for growth and success for coffee farmers and their families. So cool! I really love gifting a product that gives back so this feels like a double win! You too can Make Every Cup Count with Laughing Man® Coffee.

We’ve been drinking the Colombia Huila variety lately, a dark roast that has an intense, deep-roasted flavor, but I also love the Ethiopia Sidama which is a little lighter. It’s so cool that the Ethiopia Sidama blend, in particular, is the kind you might have at a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony. You can get the coffee in bagged versions, which I love with our French Press {see below}, but they also are available in recyclable K-Cup® pods which is super convenient. I know this might be a popular option if you know someone that has a Keurig® brewer, but also a lot of offices have them, too!

METHOD OF PREPARATION

As I mentioned above, I LOVE our French Press. Not only is it a beautiful addition to our breakfast table, but it also serves an amazing cup. I have a tip that I picked up from a Portland roaster: pour in your boiling water only halfway, let it “bloom” for 1 minute, stir and then add the rest of the water and set your timer for 3 minutes. It’s slightly more involved than just setting your timer for 4 minutes to start, but I swear it makes a difference. We have the classic chrome version that we’ve had for years, but I’m been dying to upgrade to this gorgeous gold. But also how pretty is the copper?! Which do you like more?

Another great option for brewing a cup quickly is a Keurig® brewer. This Keurig® K-Mini™ Single Serve Coffee Maker is a great price and would be convenient to take on trips as well. Speaking from experience, we always like to have a good cup of coffee when we’re out of town, especially since we start our mornings early with Augustine.

CUP O’ JOE

Every coffee lover needs their special coffee cup! I love gifting a pretty cup around the holidays to my girlfriends because it’s something that they’ll use again and again. Speaking from experience, I’ve lost/broken two of my coffee cups in the past year, so I would totally appreciate a cute new one. A coffee cup is something small that they’ll enjoy taking out of their cupboard every morning. I love this unique cup, but I also think this mug would be a great option for a girl or a guy. Plus, it’s homemade!

SWEETEN IT UP!

Usually I don’t mind drinking my coffee black, but sometimes it’s fun to play barista and add a hint of flavor. This little set of syrups is a great stocking stuffer or White Elephant gift for someone that loves coffee. I especially like this brand because they serve it at my favorite coffee shop. The vanilla is always a good go-to, but Matthew has been really into the Amaretto flavor which is equally as yummy. Just add some frothed milk and you’ll have a coffee-shop coffee for half the cost! Also, check out this holiday edition set! Peppermint Mocha coming right up!

ON THE SIDE

If you have a friend that loves coffee, chances are he or she also loves breakfast pastries! I always love the idea of gifting a bag of coffee with scone or muffin mix. This blueberry scone mix is a personal favorite since Matthew would make it for me while we were dating. You can also exercise your culinary skills and make your own scones. These are my personal favorites – Oatmeal Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Scones…yum! And I also love this recipe for Blackberry Buttermilk Scones. Wouldn’t either of those make a great gift for a coworker? Just hope and pray they bring it into the office so you can devour one too!

I hope you all enjoyed this Gift Guide for the Coffee Lover! And if you haven’t tried Laughing Man® Coffee yet, I think you’ll really love it! I’m so happy to support a special product like this one that gives back, especially during this time of year.

Leave a comment below telling me which of these coffees you would try, and I’ll pick one of you to win a Target gift card so you can get your own!
