I crave this snack regularly and I’m always stocking up at the store. And the ingredients have to be from Trader Joe’s so I’ll get into all the specifics below!
Say hello to my pear and cheese sweet and salty snack combo!
The Sweet and Salty Snack Combo I Can’t Stop Craving
I’ve always been a fan of sweet and salty combos like chocolate and peanut butter, but when I gave up sugar after Easter last year I needed a replacement. I was at Trader Joe’s and picked up their Cambozola cheese and dried pears and all of a sudden I found a match made in heaven. I told Matthew that I would seriously have it for dessert it was so good. Of course, he didn’t believe me because I have a HUGE sweet tooth, but it happened! The combo of naturally-sweetened pears with salty/tangy/creamy Cambozola is just too good.
So trust me when I say you need to get yourself to Trader Joe’s and pick up a bag of their dried pears and Cambozola cheese. While you’re welcome to try dried pears and Cambozola elsewhere, I haven’t found others I love quite as much. The thing I love about the Trader Joe’s Cambozola cheese is that it’s the perfect mix between a brie and a blue – it’s soft and creamy, but has a little bit of a blue kick to it. Other Cambozola’s taste different to me – usually too blue cheese-like, although I do love the pears with a traditional blue cheese. And when you pair the cheese with the Trader Joe’s dried pears, it’s perfection! Those dried pears are the sweetest things, especially the slices without the rind on them, and there’s nothing added. It’s just pears, no added sugar! Hooray! So really this sweet and salty snack combo is a great way to get in a serving of fruit and dairy, plus satisfy that sweet tooth!
If you try it, let me know what you think! And tag me in any photos on Instagram. I have LOVED seeing so many of you try it and enjoy it too!! It’s a great dish to make for parties too. You can even add honey on top to be a little fancy!
