Let’s be honest, how many of you are a little overwhelmed with all the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale posts? I’ll be honest, I totally am and it’s a part of my job. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE a good sale and Nordstrom is one of my favorite retailers. I just feel like all the sales going on lately have left me feeling like I need much more than I actually do. It can be so easy to get sucked into thinking you need a whole new wardrobe when I’m sure the clothes you have are more than sufficient. A part of my job is to share my favorite style picks with you but I never want you to think that you absolutely need something if maybe you don’t. Personally, I’ve been much more selective about what I’ve been buying lately and I thought I’d share a little secret I’ve picked up over the past several years of covering the sale. While I do have a list of 8 things I’m buying which I’ll share with you below, the truth about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is something I don’t think many people realize, and most bloggers definitely won’t tell you!
Ok get ready for it…the sale is NOT the best sale of the year! At least not when it comes to clothing and shoes. Sure, those are the items that tempt you, like this pretty sweater dress for under $100, but if you can’t afford it now don’t worry. I repeat…do not worry! Chances are the clothing and shoes you have your eye on will go back on sale again in the fall. There are a handful of items though that I do recommend buying now, if you can afford it of course. These are items that rarely go on sale and are definitely worth it if you need them. Here is my list of what I’ll be buying now that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is public. {P.S. Am I the only one that doesn’t have a Nordy’s Card for Early Access?! I think that might be too dangerous and tempting for me!}.
What I’m Buying During The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
- Natori Feathers Underwire Contour Bra– This bra is my absolute favorite! It’s on sale for almost $30 cheaper so it’s definitely worth it. I try to replace my bras yearly so this is the ideal time to do it. Note: The bra runs a little small so I’d order one band and cup size up from normal. Read the reviews if you need any guidance.
- Wacoal Red Carpet Convertible Strapless Bra– Another bra but this is the best strapless I’ve found. It actually stays up which says a lot! This bra is $25 less than it’s usual price.
- Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Full Size Lip Kit– If you love nude lips, you have to try this combo! I’m so surprised this set is included in the sale because it’s one of her most popular colors. Trust me when I say you don’t be wanting or needing any other nude lipstick after trying this one!
- Neulash Lash Enhancing Serum Duo– I just started using this lash serum to help with some post lash extension fall out, and so far I love it! This serum has amazing reviews and results {and my doctor approved it while breastfeeding}. This is almost $100 cheaper during the sale so if you’ve been considering trying it, now is the time!
- Diptyque Set of 5 Travel Sized Candles– While I am so tempted to keep this set for myself, I think it’s actually the perfect thing to get now and save for holiday gifts. My girlfriends and sister in laws love candles and Diptyque is one of the best of the best. I mean, who can resist the chic packaging?! Another favorite candle brand is Voluspa so I was also looking at this set of 3 candles!
- Zella Live in High Waist Leggings– Since I’ve been working out again I think new leggings are definitely in order. This pair has the best reviews and I personally love an ankle crop style. If you want the full-length though, get these! Also considering getting this new sports bra since it has such good reviews. The one I’ve been wearing hasn’t given me the best support so I’ll keep you posted!
- Jeans- This is a great time to buy a more designer pair of jeans since they’re on serious sale. My favorite jean brand is AG so I’m going to get their Farrah High Waist Ankle Skinny Jean, but I’m also really interested in the Good American Good Legs High Waist Skinny Jeans. So many people love them so I want to try them out for myself! Of course it’s currently sold out in my size but I’m hoping it comes back soon so I can grab them!
- Hanky Panky Regular Rise Lace Thong– This has been my favorite underwear brand for years and while they’re a little more expensive they hold up really well. I prefer to buy them when they’re on sale which helps justify the cost a bit!
Other things I’m tempted by but I don’t need right now:
this bronzing self-tanning mousse that my blogger friends swear by!
A pretty sleeveless sweater top with a square neckline.
Neutral sneakers that would be great for running errands or doing a workout!
A cozy throw blanket! Everyone loves this leopard version, but the cream color is more me!
This quilted utility jacket. But let’s be honest, I live in SoCal and it’s not that necessary!
These nude knee-high boots! Perfect color and would be a great choice for fall!
My favorite bow headbands for Corinna! They’re already pretty affordable but it’s even better during the sale. This is a deal you might be able to get another time of year though.
Things I have already but would recommend during the sale:
PMD Personal Microderm Device– I can’t say enough good things about this device. It’s an at-home microderm device that helps remove red spots and hyper-pigmentation. It also is so helpful when it comes to re-surfacing your skin and increasing cell turnover.
nuna Mixx stroller– This was our favorite stroller with Augustine! The maneuverability is amazing, the details are so luxe and it’s comfortable. I’ve missed using it with Corinna so we actually ended up getting the nuna Grow stroller since that works with two kids. I’ll keep you all posted with what we think but I’m sure we’re going to love it like our Mixx! And by the way, the carseat we loved most is on sale too!
Speaking of baby products, our high chair, the Stokke Tripp Trapp high chair is on sale too! I’ve been so happy with it and love how it fits with our home decor. It’s funny that matters, but it does haha!
Spanx Faux Leather Leggings– These are incredibly comfortable and flattering! And the next time they’ll be this affordable will be during Black Friday but I’m sure you’ll want to wear them in October and November too!
Spanx Higher Power Mid-Thigh Shaping Shorts– One of those things you will wear again and again under dresses, or even skirts that might be a little too short!
Moonlight Pajamas– So incredibly comfortable and chic with the white piping! This short pair would be a good choice for summer too!
The softest, coziest baby blanket! If you have a friend that’s pregnant, get this for her! She’ll absolutely love it!
