I got my first real taste of fall weather this season when we were in Colorado last week! Some days weren’t too cold, which is how I was able to wear this dress outfit and still stay warm. But I bet a few weeks from now it will be pretty chilly! So I got to thinking about how I want to wear dresses this season. And I think I found the perfect solution for staying warm and looking good! Hint: I am crazy about knee high boots!

I like tights as much as the next girl, but let’s face it, they aren’t exactly a replacement for pants. Even those fancy extra thick ones. Which is why I think knee high boots are the perfect solution for wearing dresses during the fall. They’re warm, protect well against rain and wind, and look pretty darn chic! Plus, you can wear nice warm socks or layer tights underneath easily. See? The perfect fall weather solution! How pretty would these plaid tights be layered under these grey knee high boots? That way, you just get a flash of pattern without having to commit to a whole leg of color or print. If you’d like to see how I style patterned tights, drop me a note below in the comments and I might share my tips soon! But first, we need to pause to look at how crazy these tights are! Look at that fringe and that price tag. So funny right?!

I wanted to share a fall colored dress with boots and what color is more fall than burgundy?? It’s seriously such a pretty shade and goes well with black, brown, or grey boots. I know the higher the boot, the higher the prices can shoot up. So I did some digging, and found some really great options under $100. Every style below is under $100, can you believe that?? I am obsessed with this retro looking pair! Would be so cute with a skirt or sweater dress!
