Are you a lover of neutral palettes like me? Well we’re in luck, because dressing like a stick of butter is trending. Yes, this new trend is called “stick of butter”, which is basically dressing in a combination of all your favorite neutrals, from cream and ivory to different shades of beige! I love this trend because there is something so satisfying about a clean neutral palette, and all neutral pieces are so versatile! But isn’t the name hilarious??
I’m going to share a few ways to wear this fun new trend and bring you all over to the stick of butter side. I think the key to wearing this trend is making sure you use a variety of textures and shades to add dimension to your buttery look. A good place to start is with a classic white or cream pant! For this outfit, I reached for one of my current favorite jeans from Everlane. {FYI the fit is TTS, but I got them in Short even though I’m 5’5″}. I also love these mid-rise bootcut jeans from Abercrombie {on sale for $39 right now!}, the slight flare bottom is so fun and they’re a great price!
I chose to add in a silky smooth top to contrast the denim, but you could go for a textured knit like an off-white rib knit sweater or beige chunky knit sweater to add some dimension, I also love these two sweaters because of the puff sleeves! I think they would provide a nice contrast to skinny or straight cut jeans.
Finish your stick of butter look with a pair of nude heels and some simple jewelry to pull the look together! The best thing about this trend, is that you probably already have a lot of these pieces in your wardrobe, you just need to throw/cream them all together!
