Happy Monday friends! How was your weekend? We took it easy and spent most of our time outside in the backyard and in the pool. We have a small plunge pool that we’ve happily been putting to use this summer. Augustine is learning how to swim thanks to Matthew and he’s been having the best time practicing his jumps and kicks! Corinna is still a little iffy about the water so sometimes we’re just watching the boys.
My weekend style has always been pretty casual, but it definitely has been this summer. I feel like I just want the easy pieces that are comfortable but also functional. This maxi dress is pretty perfect and I love that it can transition from an outfit into a swimsuit coverup. Plus it has pockets which is a major benefit these days! Keep reading to see how I’ve been doing casual weekend style lately!
How I’m Doing Casual Weekend Style Lately

hat . dress {fit: runs true to the size chart but a little big. I probably could have sized down} . shoes . bag .
I don’t know about all of you but I am so tired of wearing sweatpants! I feel like it has been months and months of just living in loungewear and I am ready to freshen up my look a bit. I miss the days of getting ready and actually putting together an outfit. I obviously still want to be comfortable, but I also want to feel more put together as well. I found this super cute tiered sundress that is perfect to wear out and about. It is made of jersey and is midi length so it is perfect for around the house as well. Bonus points that I know you’ll appreciate: it has POCKETS! P.S. Here are a few other casual dress options: this striped shirt dress and a comfy tank maxi dress.
This cute straw fedora is perfect to throw on if you’re leaving the house, it’s trendy and provides protection from the sun {check out some save vs splurge summer hats here!}. The hat adds a nice beachy touch so I found this adorable beaded crochet clutch that is perfect for summer and can be worn casually or dressy. I always love a good tote bag as well, especially if I am out with the kiddos! This everyday tote by Madewell is so great and they even have cute clutches for a smaller casual option. I gave a more in-depth review of that tote bag here.
To finish off my comfortable but cute summer look I went with these chic white Nike sneakers {I reviewed these here!}. They are leather so they can be easily cleaned off and they look great paired with a dress or shorts – love the versatility! These white sneakers are an old favorite and they’re super comfortable to be in all day long! Just ask my high school self! You could also choose a sneaker with a fun pop of color or even a cute animal print!
