Fall is all about the layers! This is what we waited all summer for right? I think layers are part of why fall fashion is so fun and more of a challenge. In the summer all you need is a sun dress. One and done. But dressing can feel so much more creative during the fall. Not to mention, more practical. Let’s face it, we have to layer to stay warm! One of my favorite styles to layer right now is maxi cardigans. I wore this grey one recently and plan on rotating it with the camel cardigan I’m wearing in these photos all season long!
I know it might seem crazy to think about wearing anything longer than short sleeves right now, but fall is coming up faster than you’d think. Personally, I can’t wait! I’m most looking forward to a drop in temperatures so that I can bundle in fall cardigans, scarves, and boots. It might be awhile for us here in SoCal, but I’ll be ready because I’m stocking up on a few fall cardigans from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. One of my favorite ways to wear white jeans is with neutrals like beige and pink. {If you saw my post on Friday, you know how I feel about pink as a neutral!}. This PLEATED BLOUSE adds a little bit of texture and the woven CROCHET CARDIGAN is a perfect layering piece when it’s still brisk outside. I wore this sweater on Saturday too!
When I first got these PINK MULE SANDALS I wasn’t sure how often I’d wear them but I’ve been surprised at how often I reach for them. I was wearing this floral dress and I felt like the mules kept the look a little more casual, whereas sandal heels would have dressed it up too much. It’s always nice to have a heel option that works with both a casual jeans outfit and a pretty dress!
How was your weekend everyone? Matthew and I had a fun pizza and caprese night at home on Friday. Those nights are always my favorite. It’s so nice to just relax at home after a long week, and not worry about going out. Saturday we had that baby shower which was a lot of fun. The games included drawing on diapers, guessing the waist size with yarn, and playing a funny Price is RightBabies Edition. Then we went out with our two besties Eden and Zan for drinks and dinner.Sunday was pretty busy with work but we were able to have dinner with my parents which is always so nice, and delicious! My dad is the best cook ever!
