The Romantic Getaway Edit

There’s something about that breezy time right when summer ends and fall begins that feels so romantic. I think it’s because it’s warm enough to spend a day in the sun in a pretty dress and sandals, but you can cozy up at night by a fire with a glass of wine. I mean come on, a tan by day and merlot by night. Who could complain?! I feel like it’s the perfect time for a romantic getaway! Think about it, you can sightsee during the day without it being too hot or crowded like in the peak of summer. And you can indulge in cozy mornings in bed with room service. Or spend a night talking in a dark bar. Okay, can you tell I’ve been cooped up with the kids too long?!

While we’re trying to figure out a way to do a romantic getaway, I’ll be dreaming of the perfect packing list. I was thinking this trench coat inspired dress and some glam sandals would be perfect for day or night. Neutrals are always a vacation wardrobe staple. And throwing in a classic cashmere sweater is ideal for nights by the coast or chilly airplanes.

If you’re getting really fancy, a retro inspired travel case and a cute passport cover would make even budget flights feel special. Really one of the main motivations for pulling together this list of romantic getaway essentials was because I fell in love with this chic weekend bag

A romantic weekend should be all about indulging. Why not bring along some jewel toned lingerie or actual jewels lol! While these earrings aren’t real stones, I do love how they are so glamorous! Jewel toned lipstick and nail polish will help vamp things up!

August Edit: Early Fall Style

As much as I am enjoying our warm summer weather, I can’t help but get swept up in all the new fall fashion. I am a sucker for coats, boots, and cold-weather accessories! I had so much fun dressing up for the cold weather in New York last fall, but truthfully around here, early fall style ends up lasting all season. Which is why I wanted to pull together a few style options for that awkward period where summer is ending and fall is starting!

Clothing-wise, these in-between days are SO hard to dress for. Which is why I wanted to include a few light tops and a trench coat. Starting with a light layer makes the most sense for days that are still warm, but you can easily throw on a trench coat if you get cold in the mornings or night. I love that this trench is designed to be soft and warm instead of rain resistant. A silk camisole can be layered under a trench, or a cardigan. And this white blouse would be so perfect with jeans anytime of year!

For accessories, shades of camel seemed more appropriate than black. Light enough for summer, but still classic once fall starts. I am OBSESSED with this ladylike handbag. It would be a great work bag! These camel slides would be perfect for summer, and these lighter colored boots would be ideal for fall. Both match the bag and trench, so you could just swap them out when the weather changes!

It’s not time for warm scarves just yet, but this light scarf comes in two pretty shades and can add a little extra warmth or be worn in your hair. Or you can tie it on a structured handbag. And beauty-wise, a berry-toned lipstick is flattering any time of the year!

June Edit: Fruity Prints

The dress that started it all! As soon as I saw this fun strawberry print dress I knew that I wanted to pick up some fun fruity prints for summer! I’ve had my eye on these lemon espadrilles for years, and I think this year might be the one where I finally grab them! I also think these orange and Aperol spritz inspired espadrilles would be so cute! So are these peach ones!

When I saw this really cute straw tote with cherries on it at Nordstrom, I knew I had to share all my favorite fruity prints! Lemons seem to be the more popular fruit right now. I think these lemon earrings would be so pretty with any summer outfit! And I even found lemon print pajamas! And a lemon print camisole and dress!

This t-shirt has alll the fruits on it which would be so cute for a tropical vacation! Also I kind of have to get Augustine this cute pineapple outfit for summer right?!

Of course you have to pair fruity prints with fun summer accessories like a straw hat, pastel sunglasses, and a retro inspired beach towel! And if you need a bronzer for summer, this one is my absolute fave! I’ve been using it for the past several months and love how natural it looks!
