November Edit: Cozy Textures

I think it’s time to address the giant pink elephant in the room! How cute is the pink teddy bear coat?? I love the teddy bear trend {I wore a similar jacket here}. I think this is just a fun style for fall and really embraces cozy texture. It feels like slightly dressier version of a fleece jacket which is appreciated. I think light pink pairs so well with fall colors. Rust, grey, black, it totally works with any color. We all know light pink is basically a neutral at this point lol! I thought this pretty pink hair bow and pink earrings would be pretty perfect fall accessories! I was torn between this simple pink huggies and these more glam pink earrings. Which are your fave?

I think pink also pairs so well with rust colored styles. Like this cozy sweater and this cute corduroy skirt. For you cold weather gals, these Nordic Boots from J.Crew look so cozy! Their snow boots get really good reviews every year, so if we ever do a snowy vacation I want to get a pair!

For grey pieces, I am loving any with cozy textures like this fuzzy one. And these matching gloves and scarf would make a perfect gift! Who doesn’t love affordable cashmere?? This adorable hat has two of my favorite textures for fall and winter. Cable knit and a fuzzy pom! Who can resists a good pom? Not me!

October Edit: Rich Jewel Tones

It’s finally starting to feel like fall down in Southern California, and I am so excited to start wearing layers, boots, and rich jewel tones! Some of the pieces that I’m loving this month are great transitional pieces and can be dressed up or down. Which is so convenient for the upcoming holiday season! A piece I’ve fallen in love with is this midi wrap dress from & Other Stories. As you know, I’m basically only wearing wrap dresses lately or anything that makes nursing easy! While browsing their site, I also came across these dainty gold rings. While I love an all gold look, I really appreciate this fresh pop of emerald color!

If dresses aren’t your thing, how pretty is this ruffled blouse from TopShop. Tops with ruffles and ties are so popular right now. I see a lot of white ones, but am I the only one who think those look a bit Renaissance-esque?? I think this style in rich jewel tones works much better! I love this top not only because of the gorgeous color, but also the feminine details. Ruffled sleeves and a peplum fit work well on any body type.

Okay, you have to take a closer look at these earrings from J. Crew. Did you see what they are? Acorns! How cute is that for fall?? I appreciate the subtleness of the style and love the warm rose gold shade. Speaking of small things, I don’t think we’ve talked about the mini bag trend yet! I’ll be the first to admit, it’s not super practical when you have a busy day. But it could not be cuter for date night. I also feel like you need to embrace color and cool textures with a smaller bag. Black would be so boring! This mini bag from TopShop combines both color and texture.

And obviously boots are a fall fashion necessity. I fell in love with these boots from Ann Taylor. They are such a perfect neutral and have a short enough heel for all-day wear. How cute would they be paired with these checkered pants from from Banana Republic? I like a slimmer cut pant with boots.

Obviously, I love a good headband and am so glad they are back in style. This velvet headband gives me all the Blair Waldorf vibes. Not going to lie, she will always be a source of major fall style inspo for me! A knotted headband in a deep emerald color feels like a no brainer for me!

September Edit: Preppy Fall Style

If you haven’t noticed, I’m celebrating preppy fall style on the blog this week! I mean, who doesn’t love east coast prep school vibes in the fall? I may not be going back to school, but I can dress like I am! I knew I wanted to round up some of the best preppy fall style clothing items and accessories. But I wanted to find some more modern styles to share with you. Preppy style can be a little too classic sometimes, so I thought it would be fun to find some funkier pieces, like this slightly cropped varsity sweater. Don’t worry, it doesn’t show your stomach if you wear it with high waisted jeans! But it looks more relaxed than a traditional varsity sweater, which I love.

I knew I also had to include a few pearl pieces but again wanted to stay away from any styles we’ve seen a million times before. These edgy spiked pearl earrings are really fun and this pearly headband is a more laidback way to introduce pearls into your wardrobe. And of course, the pearl hair clip trend is still going strong. I can’t believe this pack of pearl hair clips is under $10!

To really lean into the back to school vibes, how cute would this school bag inspired purse be?! These satchels are timeless, but I loved how the gold dots modernized the feel of this design a bit. I think you could totally bring this to the office instead of school! And of course, now is a great time to stock up on a fresh new planner. Brands usually release planners in January or at the end of summer when students go back to school. So if you don’t want to wait until 2020 for a new planner, you can pick up this cute agenda that will last until December 2020! {Ok just writing that is crazy, right?!} Have you seen these adorable book-shaped clutches?? I probably wouldn’t splurge on this style full-priced, but I love Jane Austen so much and in a dream world I would add this special piece to my closet.

I thought another modern way to wear preppy style was to wear non-matching plaids. Similar to how Blair Waldorf would mix multiple plaids on Gossip Girl. If that look is too intimidating, I think this blazer, pants, and scarf would look great on their own regardless! I also really love this plaid infinity scarf because it looks SO cozy…and cozy is what fall is all about! And of course, if you are looking to add some more iconic and timeless pieces to your wardrobe, this blue shirt and gold watch are pretty perfect!
