Today feels a little bittersweet. We’re packing up this house that we’ve made our home for the past 3 1/2 years and moving on. Even though this is the 4th place Matthew and I have lived together, this has been our home for the longest period of time, and it’s also been Augustine’s only home. Reflecting on our move and thinking about how hard change is.
Growing up in California, I didn’t really realize how much my location affected the way I dressed until I moved to Washington State. During my first week in Seattle, I saw the sun and immediately chose a pair of sandals, only to quickly run back into my apartment and change. Sun doesn’t always mean warmth, as I quickly learned! For a few years, I traded my sundresses for casual jeans outfits with hoodies and rain jackets. I’ve continued to notice how my current home affects the way I dress, from my time in Washington, the Bay Area, and now being back in Southern California. For the past 6 years, I’ve been living by the beach and that coastal environment has greatly changed the way I shop and pick my outfits. I tend to lean towards blues and whites, breezy pieces, and dresses that can be dressed up or down. Basically summer-wear at its finest!
When Macy’s came to town the other week and wanted to shoot, we decided to have a fun afternoon in my own backyard. I loved styling pieces from Macy’s designer brands and showing how they work for my life in Manhattan Beach.
