french connection ali gator dress on M Loves M @marmar
Hello everyone! Isn’t this reptile-print dress so pretty?! It caught my eye because of it’s unique print. I have a few leopard print dresses, but reptile? Love! It works with pretty much anything and this color green is one of my favorites. The dress has so much more detail than a typical shift dress, too, although I do love those, and it’s really well made but not crazy expensive.I paired the dress with these black heels, which I didn’t even realize had green soles until Valorie pointed it out! Let’s just pretend I planned that all along though, ok? You know I love to color coordinate!

dress French Connection {fit: TTS Size 2}, jacket Theory c/o Amazon, shoes Chloe Jade Green {size up}, bracelet LOFT, sunglasses Karen Walker Super Duper, purse Lauren Merkin, lipstick Revlon Cherries in the Snow

I got this coat from Amazon after lusting over it for weeks. The gray wool is so soft and I like how the jacket isn’t too heavy. It’s perfect for crisp days yet could be layered with sweaters, scarves and the works!

Happy Friday everyone! And I should say Happy Halloween too!! Are you doing anything fun and spooky tonight? Matthew and I still have to carve our pumpkins. It’s funny how October kinda flew by. We were all on top of fall at the beginning with our apple picking, but pumpkin picking and carving were left at the wayside. We’re planning on carving our pumpkins tonight though in between the thousands of trick-or-treaters we’re planning on getting. Our neighborhood warned us. It’s supposed to be craaaazy! Just to give you guys an idea…Matthew bought 9 {yep NINE!} bags of Halloween candy. And from where you wonder? Costco! Nine bags of Halloween candy from Costco! Let that sink in. We’re swimming in candy over here but apparently we’ll run out by 8pm..yikes! It’s going to be a crazy night!

upgrade workwear

October 31, 2013
For my latest story with Refinery 29 we’re talking about how to upgrade your work wardrobe. While it’s nice to dress in of the moment pieces, it’s always important to dress professionally. When you can find a way to merge those two things, you’ll find yourself with one awesome outfit that you’ll want to wear past the 9 to 5!
For this work-appropriate outfit I chose a classic wrap dress in a fun geometric print. It’s reminiscent of the 70s but still in style today. I ditched the boring black blazer for this black jacket with leather detailing on the sleeves. The dual-textures makes it a fun choice, yet still office ready! This cobalt blue bag is striking and holds all my workday essentials {laptop, change of flats, lipstick and notebook). Best part? The entire outfit was under $100! yes, T.J Maxx might be the best thing to happen to me!
Here’s more of the article “A Made for Work Look that Stuns After Hours” on Refinery 29! Thanks so much for all your support throughout this fun collaboration!
Happy Halloween everyone!! Unfortunately we didn’t get around to carving pumpkins last night since I was so exhausted after flying back from New York, but it will definitely be on our list this weekend. Better  late than never!

spooky scary.. part one

November 2, 2009

{fashion risk: socks with heels}
 These are some pictures from Halloween Eve. We were totally cutting it down to the wire and, in retrospect, being a little too picky about our pumpkins. We found this pumpkin patch but they were a little/a lot pricey and most of them weren’t the best for carving {spotted some rotting ones!}. So Halloween was a busy day, consisting of a mad hunt for pumpkins and last minute costume pieces. But we did see Zooey Deschanel and Ben Gibbard so apparently other rockstar couples are procrastinators too! After going to every grocery store in a 10 mile radius we finally found one gem, and convinced my Mom to let me carve pumpkin! They ended up looking so unbelievably good {professional, if I do say so myself!}. I’ll post them tomorrow along with our costumes!! Hope everyone had a happy Halloween weekend! Woo hoo for the extra hour of sleep!
