Happy Sunday friends! Gotta be honest about last week’s wellness challenge. It was a tough one! I’m looking forward to a fitness-focused challenge for the week ahead. How about you? Let’s chat!
Recap: Wellness Challenge No. 2 Stop Using My Phone After 8 pm
Did any of you do last week’s wellness challenge? I’ll admit it was a really really tough one for me. The first night I ended up going on my phone to respond to an Instagram comment, and Matthew totally called me out! He was like, “Put the phone away! I’m going to tell your readers!” lol! That boy totally kept me in check. While it was a challenge given that I’m so used to being on my phone in the evenings, it was nice to spend the time off-line. Matthew and I had longer dinners, spending the time catching up, I was able to focus more on work without distractions, and one night I even watched a few episodes of This Is Us. I haven’t watched anything on TV since the holidays so this was huge. I miss having the time to watch TV! It’s a good reminder that I can get more done without the distraction of my cell phone. While this isn’t a challenge I can keep up daily, I am going to try to incorporate more phone-free nights. I think this challenge gave me the confidence to realize that I really won’t miss out on that much by not spending the time on my phone. Did any of you join in on this one? What did you think?
The next challenge is fitness related which I’m really excited about! It may seem easy to some but it’s been something I’ve really been needing to incorporate into my daily life. For the Wellness Challenge No. 3, I’m planning on spending 5 minutes stretching every single day. I don’t know about you but my back is always killing me, my neck is tight (darn that computer), and I just always feel like I have aches and pains. And I’m not even 30! ah! With all the back problems I had last fall, though, I’ve realized how important it is to take care of my body. Stretching is a fundamental part of any fitness routine, and if I’m not doing it regularly, I’m going to get more tight and tense, and probably injure myself. So I’m planning on doing arm stretches, back stretches, leg stretches, and I’m even going to break out my foam roller because that thing feels incredible. If any of you want to join in, please do! I’m hoping by the end of the week, stretching will be an ingrained part of my routine. While I’ll definitely be stretching before and after workouts, I’m really going to make an effort to stretch right before bed. After a long day, I know it will feel so good! Plus, it will probably help me sleep better. Are any of you in?
