I do like to wear them, especially during the summer, but sometimes I question how to wear them in an appropriate way. While I love cut offs and a tee, I feel like I need to elevate the look slightly. I love a plain white tee but if I paired them with these jean cut offs, I think the outfit would immediately skew too casual. I found this white blouse though and thought it would be an easy swap that instantly dresses up the look. Plus, the peplum style adds some nice visual interest.

Balance Proportions

When you’re going short in shorts, add some length in other ways. I love adding long cardigans, and this one is so lightweight. It’s actually been my favorite layering piece lately because of how it looks with jeans and dresses too. The stripes also add a great print!

Skip the Flip Flops

Flip flops are easy but, if you can, try wearing a pair of heeled sandals instead. They are still casual but slightly more dressed up. I love this pair because of how comfortable they are, and the dusty rose color is surprisingly a versatile neutral!

Pair with a Ladylike Bag
