20 Week Pregnancy Update

October 15, 2018

I'm sharing my 20 week pregnancy update! - M Loves M @marmar

Oh my gosh 20 WEEKS! You guys, how am I halfway through? I swear this pregnancy has gone by so much more quickly than with Augustine. Maybe because I’m busy chasing a toddler around all day I don’t have as much time to think about being pregnant! I had to celebrate this halfway point with a post though and I’m so excited to announce a fun little series I’m doing with some of my other blogging friends who are also pregnant. Sharing more about that below, along with my 20 Week Pregnancy Update!

20 Week Pregnancy Update

CURRENTLY I’M…

Feeling: I feel like I have a lot more energy these days, although I do get tired in the evenings. I’ve been trying to be really productive though, mainly because I foresee a lack of time come March! The other week I whittled down my inbox from over 1000 emails to 0! It was a major accomplishment. Of course, now I’m at 41 but I’d like to be more on top of it going forward. I don’t know how I let my inbox get so out of control, but to be fair I get a lot of PR emails that aren’t even addressed to me personally. A lot of junk to filter through, as well as the good stuff. I’m also doing a lot of cleaning and reorganizing. I’ve been uploading a bunch of clothes to Poshmark {more to come this week by the way}, as I’m realizing what clothes fit best into my lifestyle. Also, knowing I won’t be able to wear many of my clothes for the next 5 months makes me able to really contemplate whether or not they’re worth keeping. By the way, I’m already in maternity jeans! I got this pair that I really like and I’m planning on getting these maternity leggings that I hear are crazy comfy!

Craving: I’ve had very similar cravings as I did with Augustine – a lot of carbs! Lately I feel like I’ve been devouring bowls of cereal (half shredded wheat, half granola), especially for dessert. I’ve also craved baked potatoes loaded with sour cream, cheddar cheese and scallions. Yum! My sweet tooth is starting to come back, something I sadly lost in my first trimester {unlike with Augustine might I add- I craved sweets throughout!}. I went to See’s the other day and got a bag full of truffles just for me. I did offer some to Matthew to be nice though 😉

Reading: I feel like I haven’t been reading as many pregnancy books as I was the first time. I forget to even check my pregnancy app most of the time, something I used to do every day religiously with Augustine. I have been listening to a lot of parenting podcasts though {lately I’ve been loving Parenting Beyond Discipline and have loved so much of what I’ve heard}. I would love to read and learn more about baby’s sleep and the first several months {the 4th trimester as they call it}, especially since we had such a hard time with Augustine. I hope to be a little more prepared this time so that I can set the baby up for successful sleep. Any tips you mamas have would be so welcome!! By the way, this was one area that I wish I had read more about while I was pregnant with Augustine. It wasn’t until we were in the thick of it, not getting any sleep, that I was desperately trying to research the topic online. I wish I had been more prepared with a gameplan, although can we ever really be prepared?? Every baby and situation is so so different!

What I’m most excited about right now:  We can’t wait to find out the baby’s gender! As many of you know, we didn’t find out with Augustine until his birth and it was the most incredible surprise. Matthew wanted to know but agreed to be surprised the first time if it meant we could find out with the second. Honestly, we would be so happy with either a boy or a girl that I almost contemplated convincing him to wait again. Either a boy or girl would be a huge blessing. I love the idea of a little brother for Augustine to be best friends with, but the idea of having a girl and doing all the girl things would be so wonderful. This is why it’s all in God’s hands! We’ll be sharing our Gender Reveal next Monday and I can’t wait to share the news and photos!! What do you think? Do you have a feeling either way? So many of you are saying girl, but that’s making me think boy! Also, my pregnancy feels very similar to how it did with Augustine. I haven’t had any morning sickness or nausea but the tiredness is just as real as it was the first time around.

I’m so excited about this pregnancy series I’m doing with some of my blogger friends! If any of you are pregnant too, you have to check out some of these girls! Some are first-time moms while others, like me, are having their second! And if you have any requests for posts that you’d like us to do, leave a comment and let me know! We want this to be a helpful series for any of you going through pregnancy as well!
