Hello sweater weather! Actually, hello sweater dress weather! Is there anything cozier than a knitted, oversized, sweater dress?! I’ve always loved a good sweater dress, but I’m especially obsessed with them now that I’m pregnant. As I mentioned in this post, they are just so comfy and easy to wear with a growing bump! Pregnancy aside, I’m breaking down why I am loving a good sweater dress this fall.
Why a Sweater Dress is My Favorite Fall Style
Pregnant or not I think this would be such a chic combo! Sweater dresses are a little tricky to wear in climates with extreme weather (don’t forget the tights or leggings for cold weather!), but in SoCal our falls just aren’t that cold. Which means for a little extra coverage, knee high or above the knee boots will do the trick! The pair I’m wearing is no longer available, but this pair is virtually indistinguishable and comes in brown and black. Because they’re suede, they are super warm and cozy.
I think a dress looks so pretty with boots and a good coat, but most really aren’t warm enough for the fall and winter. This knit sweater dress really is very warm and has long sleeves (see a full photo of the dress below) so I find it plenty warm. I also added a scarf for a little extra coverage.
I ordered this slightly longer sweater dress that I featured in my November Edit and I can’t wait for it to arrive! I’m really hoping it fits because I could see it becoming my new fall staple piece. Since it’s a little longer, I would probably style it with a great pair of ankle boots, like these brown and tortoise shell ankle boots that were included in my fall trends wishlist.
