I can't wait to start my summer reading list! - M Loves M

Now that summer is finally here and it’s warmed up, I’m so excited to get outside and read some good books! I absolutely love to read, especially in the sunshine in the backyard or at the beach! It’s the perfect time of year to finally read those books that have been on your list for a long time. Keep reading to see what I’ve picked out for my summer reading list! I’d love to know if you’ve read any or have a recommendation for me!

My Summer Reading List

The Escape Room by Megan Goldin

In this novel, four young and successful Wall Street finance stars enter an escape room as a team building practice, but the challenge quickly turns deadly and survival becomes the name of the game! I love a good suspenseful story, and I heard this one is such a page-turner!

The Light We Lost by Jill Santopolo

The Light We Lost is a story about two young college students who meet at Columbia University. They vow to themselves and each other that they will go out and find the meaning of their lives, whether it’s apart or together. However, they don’t meet again for another 13 years, even though their underlying love story never vanishes. Reese Witherspoon put this on her book club pick as well! It sounds like such a great love story, and I love a good love story!

Searching for Sylvie Lee by Jean Kwok

I love mystery books, and anything with the word, “searching” already has my curiosity peaked! This novel is centered around a Chinese immigrant mother and her two daughters when the eldest daughter suddenly disappears. Family secrets come to the surface, and the younger daughter takes it into her own hands to find out what happened to her sister and ultimately bring her home!

The Golden Hour by Beatriz Williams

The Golden Hour was actually released just yesterday! The novel takes place in 1941 in the wartime Bahamas when an American reporter comes to cover a story on the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. However, what she quickly learns about the royal marriage is anything besides glamorous, but ugly. All the while, she finds herself falling in love with an English scientist on the island who suddenly disappears. This book already seems like one that I won’t be able to put down!

The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn

In this novel, the main character, Ana Fox, is a recluse in her New York City home. She never ventures outside and spends her days drinking and watching old movies. But one day, while she’s looking out her window into one of her neighbor’s homes, she sees something she wasn’t supposed to, and everything comes crumbling down. This one is supposed to be not only a mystery, but a psychological thriller as well! I can’t wait to read this one!

The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides

The Silent Patient is about a wife, Alicia, who shoots her husband one day after he comes home from work. As the public wants to know what happened and why she did it, she goes silent and is put into a forensic unit. Then, a criminal psychotherapist finally gets the chance to work with Alicia, who’s strange story has enthralled him and almost entirely consumed him.

Next Year in Havana by Chanel Cleeton

In this novel, a Cuban-American woman travels to Havana after her grandmother has died. While she’s there however, she discovers things not only about her own identity, but a family secret that has been covered up since the revolution.

Lock Every Door by Riley Sager

Lock Every Door is a suspenseful read about a young woman who is apartment sitting at a very high-profile building in New York City. However, when she learns of the building’s dark and sinister past, she must find the answers to the disappearance of a fellow resident while also making it out alive!
