While I may not be ready to tackle all of my holiday shopping, decorating, and baking, I am ready to dress to the nines for some holiday parties! I feel like holiday parties are my only real opportunities to get dressed up every year! Aside from weddings of course. I have fallen hard for the slip dress trend, but have struggled with how to wear them. The shimmery fabric feels a little too fancy during the summer. But the silhouette is too bare for the winter! Luckily, I found an easy and chic way to style a slip dress!

I think the reason the slip dress trend is so dreamy is because of the fabrics they normally come in. I’ll take all the silk and satin please! I mean, how Old Hollywood glam is this slinky silver slip dress?? This icy blue number would also be super pretty for a winter party. It was hard to choose between all the pretty options, but I think I made the right call by picking a really chic blush slip dress. I really liked that this dress had a square neckline. I think the cowl neck styles are really elegant, but I wasn’t sure how well a neckline like that would layer under a sweater.

Which brings me to my cold-weather slip dress solution! A cozy oversized sweater can layer over a slip dress and provide coverage. I really liked how the texture of this sweater contrasted the smooth material of the dress. I chose to put a sweater over the dress creating the look of a skirt and a top {you could just go for a slip skirt if you want!}, but you could totally pair one of these dresses with a long cardigan too! While I skipped a cowl neck dress, I could go for this cozy cowl neck sweater! I think it would have also layered well over my dress!

For shoes, coverage was the name of the game for me. I like my toes warm, what can I say? These heels come in three versatile shades and don’t feel as chunky as a boot, but will help me keep my feet warm during winter nights out! You could also wear a pair of tights with stilettos. I love that this pair comes in eight colors!
