A few months ago I decided to purchase the designer bag of my dreams, and since then I have had absolutely no regrets! I’d thought about this bag for years and while I couldn’t justify the price when I first saw it, I later found it on a consignment designer retailer and knew it was meant to be! Especially since I was able to snag it at a discount. I wanted to share some tips today for how I find designer bags on sale.
Which are the Best Designer Bags to buy on Sale?
I now have my very own Chanel handbag and know that it will be a piece I keep for many many years to come and even pass on to Corinna one day! I went with more of a subtle design, it is a quilted nude bag that is the perfect size, not too big and not too small. It also has a chain that is very versatile, so I can use it as a crossbody or a clutch and the lock has is so timeless. I get so many compliments when I am using this bag and no one knows that it was pre-owned since it came in such amazing condition.
While it can be so difficult to purchase your first designer bag, I highly recommend looking into buying one that is gently used. Not only is this a more sustainable option, but sites like Fashionphile, Rebag, and The RealReal provide so many options for designer bags that are in great condition at seriously good prices! If you’re unsure which designer bags to buy on sale, go with a classic. There are so many designer bags that are truly timeless pieces, like the Louis Vuitton Neverfull Tote, Lady Dior handbag, and of course the Chanel Quilted Flap Bag! Obviously, the Hermes Kelly bag is a total dream bag, but even used the prices can be too high for my taste. They actually raise in price over the years, though, so maybe it could be a smart business move! lol
These bags are closet investments and can last you a lifetime, so it’s important to check that all pieces have been properly authenticated to ensure you are purchasing the real thing! Check the shop’s authentication processes and thoroughly view each and every photo of the bag provided, as some of the condition levels can be different. There are plenty of forums online too, like PurseForum, that have super helpful tips for buying specific designer bags used. So make sure to do your research!
