I love this long smocked polkadot dress from Madewell! The ruffle shoulder and long sleeve is so cute and it gives the dress a cool retro vibe {and it’s on sale}! I think to make any outfit edgier, especially polkadots, a leather jacket and some chunky black boots are the perfect place to start! This leather jacket by All Saints has such a cool edgy look, but is a little on the pricier side, so here’s another jacket option by BLANKNYC that is just as cute at a good price!

There are so many other edgier jackets you can try, like a black denim jacket, suede moto, or even a cream or beige leather jacket! For the boots I went with suede ankle boots, but I also found this pair from Zappos as a more affordable option! Again, I think these slightly edgier boots really ground this look. They’re such a cool mix of materials and look a bit unpolished, which I actually love when paired with a girly dress!

The next step is a trendy edgy black tote! If you’re in the mood to splurge, this Saint Laurent tote bag is amazing. A black tote can go with so many different outfits for so many occasions, so I also found this reversible tote from Target. I absolutely LOVE that this tote reverses from black to brown, it’s a two for one!! Could you imagine a more versatile work tote?

For accessories, I kept it simple with these gold hoop earrings from Kendra Scott, but for an even edgier look try some chunkier gold pieces like a chain necklace or chain earrings! The chain accessory look is so in right now and is the perfect complement to feminine polkadots. Top it all off with your favorite pair of sunnies and a fun lip. I love a brighter red lip to add a pop to your look!
