I'm so ready for a refreshed spring routine!! - M Loves M @marmar

Is it just me or has this felt like the longest winter ever?? No seriously, it has been freezing here lately. Even today, it’s been so windy and cold. We need sunshine and flowers, please. I literally can’t wait for spring to arrive! I’m so ready that I’ve already planned a refreshed spring routine. It ended up working out perfectly since I finished a bunch of products in my routine at the same time. I love it when that happens because it feels like a nice reset! I can’t wait to tell you more about my new skincare routine, plus my thoughts on the products I was using last month!

March Beauty: Refreshed Spring Routine

Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Cleanser:

With winter just about over, I am more than ready for a spring skincare refresh to completely update my skincare routine. I wanted to find a new daily cleanser so I was excited when I found the Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Cleanser because it has so many good reviews on Sephora. This cleanser has ingredients like papaya, pineapple, and pumpkin enzymes which naturally exfoliate the skin. Not only does this product cleanse your face, but it also contains clean ingredients as it is made without parabens, mineral oil, formaldehyde, oxybenzone, sulfates and more! It’s crazy these harsh chemicals would be in products we use on our faces daily, so I am so happy and relieved to see clean ingredients in this cleanser.

Rael Daily Zen Balancing Toner:

This everyday toner seems like the perfect product to freshen up my skincare routine! Sometimes toners can feel like they strip your skin of all its natural oils, leaving your face feeling dry. So I am happy to see that this toner was created to do the opposite. The daily zen balancing toner is made with olive oil to moisturize and soften the skin and has vitamin B5 to soothe and retain hydration. This product doesn’t contain silicones, sulfates, animal-derived ingredients, PEGs, and much more. I think this will be a very beneficial step for prepping my skin before applying my skincare and makeup each day.

Korres Wild Rose Spotless Serum with 15% Vitamin Super C:

Vitamin C can have powerful effects for reducing the appearance of dark spots, dullness and skin discoloration…if it is packaged and produced properly! The vitamin C serum from Korres looks like a really promising lightweight product formulated with very nutrient-rich ingredients like wild rose oil, honeysuckle extract, ginger root extract and more. I am super interested to see if I notice my skin tone appearing brighter or more even.

SkinCeuticals HYDRATING B5 GEL:

This serum looks incredibly beneficial, and I’m a huge fan of SkinCeuticals to begin with! Their products are tested so well and I feel like they actually do what they’re supposed to. The Hydrating B5 Gel is a hydrating gel that replenishes the skin’s nutrients while leaving your face feeling smooth and soft. This product also has hyaluronic acid which helps bind moisture to the skin and it is also ideal for acne-prone skin types. There is also vitamin B5 which is naturally found in salmon, avocado, broccoli and more, and it helps to promote your skin’s natural repair process. Another great thing is that the B5 used in Skinceuticals products is naturally derived from vegetables! I am excited to get a little more moisture and hydrating to my skin, especially with all our windy weather lately.

Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint Broad Spectrum SPF 40 Sunscreen:

With spring and summer just around the corner, I wanted to find a product with an SPF to shield my skin from the sun. I am really interested in trying the Ilia Tinted Skin Serum because it claims to offer a warm summer glow while having SPF 40 to protect the skin. This serum uses zinc oxide which is so great because zinc actually creates a barrier on your skin that blocks the sun’s harsh UV rays from being absorbed into your skin. This product also has ingredients like hydraulic acids help to plump and seal hydration in your skin and plant-based squalane which is used to improve skin’s elasticity. I’m really getting my hopes up for this product!

February Beauty: Short Hair Care

DAE shampoo and conditioner

A great natural alternative shampoo and conditioner duo, they are free from synthetic fragrances, sulfates, and parabens. I was excited to try both products because they condition your hair while also providing color and heat protection. I feel like the first thing I have to mention is the smell because it is SO good! Seriously it smells like fruity candy mixed with that amazing Anthro candle. My hair detangled so well with the conditioner, and I really noticed how smooth and shiny my hair was. I’m so proud of my friend Amber for launching this line and I can’t wait to try more of the products she’s working on!

Kérastase Scrub Apaisant:

A nice detox scrub for your hair that really leaves your scalp feeling clean. It targets dryness and removes product build-up left in your hair while enhancing volume. It also has great, nutrient-rich ingredients to nurture your hair. I really liked using this scrub after days of dry shampoo, hairspray, and texturizing spray. I felt like it helped my scalp get back to normal, and it felt more prepped to be properly shampooed and conditioned. If you use a lot of product in your hair, and normally have to double shampoo to remove it, try this scrub! It would be a great addition to your haircare routine!

Kérastase 8hr Magic Night Serum:

This serum is MAGIC because I could sleep with it in and wake up with my hair tangle free in the morning with some extra added shine! There is also Iris Root extract which helps coat your hair and add nutrients into your locks. This is a product I think anyone would absolutely love because of how reparative it is to your hair. I especially love that you put it in at night and don’t need to rinse it out in the morning. I’ll just brush my hair and be good to go!

Pureology Wind Tossed Texturizing Finishing Spray:

The perfect texturizing spray to add volume between my hair washes!  This has been a must-have styling product with shorter hair. It gives the little oomph your hair needs for a more playful look. The spray is lightweight and adds a great amount of body and movement. Another bonus is that this spray provides protection from harmful UV rays and heat from styling tools.
