Happy Tuesday friends! What a weekend! It felt like it was so long since we had the President’s Day holiday on Monday. Since it’s been awhile I thought I’d give you a big update below. But first, let’s chat about this dress {also comes in black by the way}! Perfect church, brunch, daytime shower/party option, in my opinion! I love the light blue color, and with the clear heels, I’m feeling like a modern Cinderella. Not complaining, though because I feel like it works. The ruffles on the collar are gorgeous and you can wear this dress off the shoulder if you like too. The material is nice and stretchy and because it has some texture, it doesn’t feel too exposed like some body-con dresses. Plus, the modest length makes it feel more polished and chic. If you’re curious about fit, I think it’s true to size, especially because there’s some stretch. I wouldn’t size up though because then the ruffled sleeves might not stay up. Just something to think about!

Ok so about our weekend! It was so so nice! I love that it was a little longer because we were able to get a lot in. The weekend started on Friday when my sweet mom came to visit. She only lives an hour and a half away but I was so happy when she offered to come spend the night. She came down on Friday after work so Matthew and I could go on a date night. I was like, “Hallelujah!!” This was our first date night since we moved! So necessary! We went to a place we’ve heard a lot about, Hendrix, and we loved it. They had the yummiest crispy Brussels sprouts.  I try to recreate this type of dish all the time because it’s just so tasty.

Saturday my mom was here so we had a lot of fun together just hanging out and playing with Augustine. It’s so sweet to see them play and I love that he gets such a kick out of when my mom gives me hugs! We tell him she’s my mama like I’m his mama. She brought him a soccer ball {his first one!} and he loves it! He’s been kicking it around, but more often than not he’s trying to throw it at Ginger. We’re constantly saying, “We need to be gentle with dog dog.” I love seeing him hug and love on my mom who I love so much, too. It’s one of the best things!

I also took advantage of my mom being here so Matthew and I could do a few house projects together. It’s always hard hammering into walls when Augustine is awake or asleep so we hung up a frame in our bedroom and downstairs in the guest room. Oh yeah, the guest room is together which feels like a huge accompliment. Design-wise we have things to do, but we’re open for company. The bed is there and made!

By the way, did you see that our tile is in? Ah things are coming together! Just need to find a cute bench and a big ginormous floor mirror. If you have ideas, send them my way, pretty please!

Sunday Matthew and I were also able to get a lot done around the house because Augustine took a 2.5 hour nap! I almost felt like I should wake him up, but I know you have to let the babies/toddlers sleep! Our big outing was a grocery store trip because by the time he woke up we didn’t have time for much else. We made a cauliflower pizza at home that night {used this crust recipe!}, and while it took a bit of time, and I think we could have eaten a whole other one, it was really good! We topped it with pesto sauce {recipe saved on my Instagram highlights}, mushrooms, onions, burrata and basil! Oh and we had half with tomato sauce and eggplant. Yum! We love our pizza nights!

Monday we ran errands in the freezing cold! Ok, freezing by SoCal standards. The high was 55 and the low was 35! It was super windy outside so I took advantage of all my winter layers I haven’t needed to wear. We ran some errands and then made lentil soup at home to warm up. We did put a fire in the fireplace but I think Ginger was the only one who really got to enjoy it because Matthew spent the evening working in the garage and I was washing my hair, doing a face mask, and working on this post!

I’m feeling super refreshed and happy going into a short week, though. I just need to get to bed early and I’ll really be set!

I hope you all had a great weekend too! Sending lots of love on this Tuesday!
