APRIL BEAUTY PICKS

Shishedo Essential Energy Moisturizing Cream

I’m excited to try this product for a few reasons. One, it’s said to include a hydrator to counteract dullness, dryness and the appearance of fine lines.  It also says that it includes a citrus peel extract (Unshiu) which is known to support skin moisture and it claims that after 3 days, 90% of people said it moisturized their skin and 85% said their skin looked more vibrant! I’m really excited to see what it does for my skin.

Origins Original Skin Retexturizing Mask in Rose Clay

You know I love a good mask, whether it’s a sheet mask or a face mask! I can’t wait to try out this retexturizing mask in rose clay.  It’s a purifying mask that deep cleans and exfoliates the skin at the same time. It says it includes a Canadian willowherb to help boost your skin’s radiance to leaving you glowing after you use.  I’ve liked a lot Origin’s products in the past, so I’m excited to test this one in April!

Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm

A cleansing balm is a great way to remove makeup after a long day. It melts the makeup right off before washing your face! I’m really excited to try this pro-collagen cleansing balm because I’m a huge fan of Elemis products and at the end of a long day, the easier my nighttime skincare routine can be, the better. Their cleansing balm claims to restore elasticity and tone for a smoother feel and it says it’s good for all skin types! I also love that it can be used as a face mask too!

Kate Sommerville Tightening Gel

This is one product that I’m so excited to try! It’s the first I’ve heard of a tightening gel but I’m kinda sold already! They claim the Tight’N™ combines skin tightening and firming ingredients inspired by the science of cryogenics to instantly tighten the appearance of skin. It’s said to go on cold (the cryogenic part) and then a lightweight gel that you can apply. I’ve been hearing a lot about cryogenics but a first in beauty so  I’m curious to see how this lasts throughout the day and/or night.

Origins Precipitation Continuous Moisture Recovery for Body

I don’t about you all, but this winter (and now into spring) I can’t get enough moisturizer! The weather has such a big impact on our skin and I’m looking forward to hopefully adding this moisture recovery into my routine. This lotion claims to replenish dull, dry skin with sunflower and soybean oils, as well as, Ginseng, Gentian Root and Clary Sage with no greasy residue which I already love since so many thick body creams can come heavy and greasy.

Have any of you used any of these products? Let me know below if you have any thoughts on them!

March Recap

These are the beauty and skincare products I was using in March. I feel like I had mixed feelings about all of these products. Maybe it was because I had loved my February products so so much, that this routine seemed to be a little underwhelming. I did like several of the products, but I just wasn’t wowed by them like I was in February. By the way, I’m probably going to finish off this Day Cream this week and I’m already sad about it. It was such a good one and I can’t recommend it enough!

Purity Micellar Cleansing Water

I’m the kind of person that always does multiple steps to my makeup removal. I don’t usually wear a lot, but I really want to make sure I get every last bit off before going to bed. I liked this cleansing water as an alternative to wipes, but I will say that it did not remove my eye makeup or mascara very well/at all. I did use it for my foudnation, blush and bronzer and liked that it left my skin feeling hydrated- I hate those wipes that feel so stripping on your skin. Even though they say you don’t need to rinse this cleansing water off, I still did. And I even followed it up with another cleanser {I still love this one}, because I wanted to make sure to really remove everything. I’m not sure I can 100% recommend this one because you’ll still need to use something else to remove your eye makeup.

Ole Henriksen’s Truth Serum®

I was really excited to try this Vitamin C serum and they said that it is boosted with collagen to help brighten and firm your face. I will say that this product does have a more sticky/slippery feel- the texture could definitely be improved. A little goes a long way, though, so I tried to do as small an amount as possible so my whole face wouldn’t feel too wet from the product. It has an orange scent that is nice, if you don’t mind it. Personally I haven’t noticed a huge difference with it yet but the reviews I’ve read say to be patient. They say it works from the inside out, so you’ll see the results with a little more time. I’m going to carry this one through to next month to get better feel for it.

Coola Sunscreen

I was really drawn to the organic sunscreen, especially to pack for our trip to Kauai. The one thing that I really loved about it was that it does not smell like sunscreen. Don’t get me wrong, I do like the smell of sunscreen, but usually not on my face in the mornings. This one has a light white tea scent that makes it feel like a regular lotion. I did notice that when I applied certain foundations on top, like this one, the sunscreen would cake up a bit and I’d have to brush some of the bits off. I think that’s normal for sunscreens & foundations, but just something to keep in mind. Overall though, I love the natural ingredients, how it’s light {so a little goes a long way}, and how it doesn’t leave any white residue. It’s also water-resistent too!

Dr. Perricone Cold Plasma Eye

I had heard a lot about this cult classic eye cream and was really excited to try it out.  They claim it’s a powerful anti-aging treatment that will help with puffiness, dark circles and fine lines. I really have been liking this eye cream and I’ll say that a little goes a long way. Thank goodness because it is not cheap! I try to dab just the smallest amount because I feel like I often get too much on my finger. It’s thick, but not too thick, and I like how it feels on my skin. I noticed that one of the reviws calls it Botox in a bottle which is kind of funny. I’d definitely recommend if you’re looking for a new one, though!

Shiseido White Lucent MicroTargeting Spot Corrector

I’m a huge fan of Shiseido products and was curious to try this spot corrector serum to help with dark spots. I have noticed such a difference already after one month. I need to dig up my before photos but I’ve noticed that I feel a lot more confident going makeup-free, as opposed to how I was a few months ago. I have a lot of post-acne scars on my skin, along with some sun spots, but this product has made them diminish significantly and I think some have even disappeared. I apply a small amount {a little goes a long way}, in the mornings and at night before my moisturizer. I’m going to keep using this product, and when I feel like my skin is in a good place, I’m going to cut down to using it every 2-3 days. Since it’s more expensive, I want it to last as long as possible!

I hope you all liked this Beauty post! It’s always nice to try products consistently for a month to see what I think and how my skin responds to them. These are just my opinions, and not sponsored at all by any of these brands. I know everyone’s skin is different so your experience with these products might be totally different than mine. For reference, my skin is combination. It gets a little dry in the winter, and a little oily in the summer.
