Sometimes I feel like it’s totally cliche to say Audrey Hepburn is my style icon, but she is definitely one of them! I can’t say I’m not constantly inspired by old photos and movies I see of her. As someone who grew up watching Sabrina and Roman Holiday and danced and sang through my bedroom to songs from My Fair Lady and Funny Face, I can say without a doubt that Miss Audrey played a role in my life.
A few years back I shared a post about the 10 Pieces to Build an Audrey Hepburn Inspired wardrobe. These are all items that I own and wear regularly! When I think of Audrey’s style, I feel like most people gravitate towards her iconic black dress and pearls from Breakfast at Tiffany’s or her pairing of slim black pants with a striped shirt. What about her summer style, though? I have to say those looks might be some of my favorites! Today I’m sharing what I think Audrey Hepburn would wear during the summer, along with some other Audrey-inspired favorites!
What Audrey Hepburn Would Wear in the Summer
Two of my favorite summer photos of Audrey are this one and this one. She totally pulls off a cute button up and shorts outfit, don’t you think? I love how she pairs a blouse with high-waisted shorts, making it look classic but still casual. And her little mule heels are so cute. To make my inspired look a little modern, I decided on this pair of chambray shorts with the waist tie. I tucked in a polka dot blouse that could work for any season, like that plaid shirt she was wearing. I love that polka dots are such a classic, and you know I can’t get enough right now! I wore these black bow slides which I felt Audrey would approve of because of how timeless they are. They feel like an update to her beloved ballet flats too! Obviously, my hair keeps me from looking too Audrey, so I pulled it back into a low bun. And, in case you were wondering, now I’m even more inspired to get bangs!
