Can we talk about the fact that summer is over a third done? Boy time sure does fly, but I think it goes especially fast during the summer! And that means it’s already time for my monthly beauty reviews! Today I’m sharing my August beauty picks. I’m trying a variety of products from a highly hyped serum to powdered sunscreen! Keep reading to my August beauty picks and what I thought of last month’s beauty products!
AUGUST BEAUTY PICKS
BeautyBio The Perfector 4-in-1 Skin Perfecting Silk SPF 30
This face cream is so intriguing because it offers so much in one bottle! It is supposed to be good for all skin types, offering four different benefits to the skin! The deep moisturizer is designed to perfect your pores, while the SPF protects your skin from the sun. Since it claims to be good for all skin types, this product should leave your skin with the perfect amount of hydration without leaving your face oily or greasy. The SPF is not waterproof, so I will be using a different sunscreen when swimming.
Supergoop! Invincible Setting Powder SPF 45
I can’t wait to try this setting powder by Supergoop! This 100% mineral based powder is great for applying over foundation in order to set your makeup. It is also a great source of protection from the sun because it has that SPF 45! I know I sometimes struggle with my skin looking oily after I apply my makeup, especially towards the end of the day, so I am definitely excited to keep this product in my purse with me while I’m out and about.
These toner pads by Arcona are soaked in cranberry toner which is supposed to be full of antioxidants, vitamins, phytonutrients, and fatty acids. This product also contains white tea extract for extra nourishment and restoration of the skin. I am always looking for a good toner, so I am definitely excited to try this one!
Pureology Style + Protect Refresh & Go Dry Shampoo
Every time I go to the hairstylist, they tell me that I need to be careful about washing my hair every day as it can be very damaging, especially to color-treated hair. This dry shampoo is apparently non-drying and oil absorbing so on those in-between wash days, I can keep my hair looking freshly washed. This dry shampoo also claims to have ingredients which protect color-treated hair and give hair some texture. I can’t wait to see if this really works!
Vintner’s Daughter Active Botanical Serum
This face serum by Vintner’s Daughter is all natural and packed with 22 botanicals which will give my skin a nice dose of nutrients. This serum claims to have ingredients which will clarify and brighten skin, protect against free radicals, stimulate melanin production, smooth and calm inflamed skin, and even balance sensitive skin. I’ve heard soooo many good things about this serum and I’m so curious to see if it lives up to it’s rave reviews!
JULY RECAP
Coola Organic Scalp & Hair Mist SPF 30
This scalp and hair mist is such a great idea! I absolutely hate getting my scalp sunburned, or feeling like I’m damaging my hair color, after a day out in the sun. This product is easy to just throw in your beach bag and go! I will say that it did make my hair a little oily but I really expected as much, and I always have to shower after a beach day anyway. At least, I’m getting some SPF protection on my hair and scalp, though! Burnt part lines are the worst!
St. Tropez Gradual Tan Tinted Everyday Moisturizer + Primer
I was really excited about this tinted everyday moisturizer but unfortunately, I feel like the color was a little too dark for my skin tone. If you have medium to tan skin, this product would be perfect though. My skin is a little on the pale side so this tinted moisturizer made me look a little dirty. If I put foundation on top though, that helped! Hopefully I’ll get some more color in this last month of summer so I can continue to use this product.
KORRES Pomegranate AHA & Enzymes Resurfacing Mask
Another win from Korres! I really love this brand so much. This mask does such a great job exfoliating and making my skin feels so smooth. I felt like my pores shrunk significantly and my skin just glowed. It also has a yummy smell! I always recommend this face oil from Korres {it was one of my top products of 2016!}, and now I’m excited to recommend this mask as well!
Kate Somerville Goat Milk Moisturizing Cream
I’m always a fan of Kate Somerville’s products! This moisturizer is perfect if you have more sensitive skin. It basically melts right in and gives your skin a soft and hydrated feel. I’ve been using this moisturizer at night and I love that it never feels thick or greasy. A little goes a long way and the easy pump applicator is my fave!
Give me all the summer hair! Personally, I usually have a hard time finding a good surf spray that gives my hair enough wave and texture because my hair type is pretty medium to thick, and also naturally straight. I do have a slight wave but I rely on products {and a curling iron} to give it more of a finished look. This product definitely gave my hair a little extra texture which I liked though. You can apply it to dry hair, but I had better luck applying it to damp hair and then scrunching it a bit as it was drying. P.S. Here are 3 easy hairstyles for summer!
