September Beauty: Skin & Hair Repair

The best products for skin and hair repair! - M Loves M @marmar

Hi guys! Can I be honest with you for a second? As much as I LOVE being a mom, I have to admit that babies can bring some not so welcome changes beauty-wise. It takes so much out of your body to carry a baby and then take care of a newborn. My hair and skin sure have taken a beating since Corinna arrived! This month I wanted to focus on products that will help with skin and hair repair. Essentially I’m looking for anything that can assist with hair growth and brightening skin. I don’t know about other moms, but I am finding less and less time to primp in the morning, so products that make my routine easier are much appreciated!

September Beauty: Skin & Hair Repair

Kerastase Blond Absolu Bain Lumiere Shampoo

I think I’ve mentioned before that my hair has been struggling since giving birth. Like a lot of new moms I am experiencing hair loss. It doesn’t help that Corinna likes to pull on my hair lol! I’m hoping that this shampoo will help since it contains hyaluronic acid-fills which apparently strengthens fiber damage from within. It’s also supposed to help with highlighted hair which is a bonus since I can’t get to the salon as often as needed.

Blond Absolu Strengthening Conditioner

Of course, I had to try the matching conditioner too! The reviews on Sephora are pretty darn good and I love that this formula is supposed to have the nourishing power of a mask with the light touch of a conditioner.

neuLash neuBROW Brow Enhancing Serum

Again, let’s talk about hair loss! I need help in the brow department too. I would love it if this product works and I can spend less time filling in my brows. You’re supposed to see results within three to four weeks, so I’ll be sharing an update in next month’s beauty review post! This formula contains biotin and essential B vitamin to encourage hair growth!

Sunday Riley C.E.O Glow Vitamin C + Turmeric Face Oil

Pass the Vitamin C please! This facial oil is FAMOUS for erasing dark spots and brightening the complexion. Fingers crossed that this combo of Vitamin C, ginger root, and golden turmeric works for me!

Peter Thomas Roth Potent-C™ Vitamin C Targeted Spot Brightener

I thought I would double up on the dark spot treatments this month! This targeted spot brightener also contains Vitamin C, as well as Vitamin E, Ferulic Acid, and Gwennis (found in algae!). You’re supposed to use the treatment twice daily, so it’s important to remember to wear lots of sunscreen. Hopefully this treatment combined with the facial oil will leave my skin glowing!

Arcona White Tea Purifying Cleanser

I so look forward to washing my face every night and I prefer if my face wash can get my skin super clean (goodbye makeup!) without stripping my skin. I really appreciate that this cleanser is supposed to cleanse, tone, and gently exfoliate skin. It sounds much gentler than using a toner and exfoliator each night! And you know I love tea, so I have to try this white and green tea infused wash!

August Beauty: Summer Fun

Bliss Lemon and Sage Body Butter

I’ve definitely found a keeper of a body lotion! I had hoped this lotion would help me relax last month since it is what they’ve used in the Bliss spas for years, and it totally did! I love the scent and how hydrated my skin feels afterward! It’s the perfect post-bath/pre-bed lotion!

Paula’s Choice RESIST Daily Hydrating Fluid Face Moisturizer SPF 50

This moisturizing face sunscreen protects against both UVA and UVB rays and claimed to not leave white streaks. The consistency is very fluid so a little goes a long way. I thought it blended really well under makeup too. And I’m a huge fan of a high SPF!

Vita Liberata Invisi Foaming Tan Water

A clear self-tanner that swears there is no risk of transfer? I couldn’t wait to try this scentless formula! I thought it gave me SUCH a natural tan. I was incredibly pleased with the results – so much in fact that I might say an expensive self-tanner is worth it. I’ve used so many affordable self-tanners but they all streak, smell and stain my sheets. This one made it actually look like I had been out tanning in the sun. It even looked natural between the spots I applied and didn’t apply. It just looked like my arms/legs got sun but not my belly. I highly recommend this one!

Vichy LiftActiv Supreme Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream

Caffeine is one of the best ingredients to look for in an eye cream, so I was thrilled that this day and night eye cream contained caffeine. The only downside to this is that I feel like I use it up quicker than I’d like. The applicator is narrow and I feel like you need a good amount for both eyes because the consistency isn’t that runny or that thick- it’s somewhere right in between. Not a bad thing but just something to note!

Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Medium Hold

I’ve loved the way the actual Moroccanoil hair oil makes my hair feel, so I was optimistic that this hairspray would add softness and shine, not crunch! I thought it did a great job holding my curls for several days and I love the smell- it might be my favorite smelling hairspray!
