I rounded up a list of chic and affordable wardrobe staples! - M Loves M @marmar

As I mentioned in my recent blog post about my plans for 2020, I really want to minimize and simplify my life this year. One way I’m doing that is by being more thoughtful with my purchases. In order to do that, I wanted to identify my trusty wardrobe staples. That way I can see easily what I should {and more importantly shouldn’t!} add to my wardrobe. It also makes the getting ready process a lot easier when I know I have some versatile and wearable options!

Do I even need to explain why jeans are one of my wardrobe staples? Probably not lol! I, like everyone else in the world, love jeans. But I do try to keep my denim collection looking fresh by mixing classic styles with more modern ones. I’ve always been a fan of paperbag waist pants, which is why this pair of jeans felt like a fun {and super comfortable} addition to my wardrobe! I feel like it’s super elongating too, and they work with heels or sneakers!

Two wardrobe staples I always reach for are ones that are ideal for layering. A lace camisole and long cardigan are two pieces I mix and match constantly. Sometimes I pair them together! But other times I wear the camisoles on their own or under v-neck sweaters or button downs. And these cardigans can go over basically any outfit. As you can see, I’ve worn them a fair amount in recent years!

Now, let’s talk accessories! The tote I’m wearing in these photos is a black tote bag I’ve had for ages. Which just proves how reliable they are! But right now I am seriously so OBSESSED with my new Transport Tote from Madewell. I’m keeping my older black bag for days where I feel like black really works with my outfit, but my new one {which I talk all about in this post} is the most gorgeous shade of brown called “English Saddle”. No matter what stage of life you’re in, a sturdy leather tote is so useful. In school? A chic book bag. A working woman? This style is super professional. A busy mom? Throw those diapers and snacks in your tote!

For shoes, I can never resist a strappy heeled sandal. I have a nude and a black pair I have worn consistently for years. I’ve worn them to weddings and job interviews and date nights with Matthew! I love that you can pair them with dressy outfits or with a great pair of jeans and a tee. Seriously so versatile! As for sunglasses, can you go wrong with a great pair of oversized black sunnies? I don’t think so! Mine are a few years old from Tom Ford, but I think this pair from J.Crew would be so chic and they’re only $65!
