I have a couple of fun winter events coming up! I’m heading to a winter baby shower in a few weeks {and a bridal shower this weekend!}. While I love any excuse for a party, winter can be tricky for events like this! You want to dress up a little, but without freezing! A few of my girlfriends who are also attending asked me what I’m planning on wearing so I thought I’d share what to wear to a winter baby shower today. I hope you love this outfit as much as I do!

I loved this holiday party look featuring a slip dress so much, that I thought I would tweak the formula a bit for a baby shower. I wanted to stay away from pinks and blues since the mama to be might be wearing those colors. Plus I figured a neutral ensemble would be perfect for a gender-neutral baby shower! I also toned down the accessories for this look by wearing less jewelry and choosing simpler heels {such a classic style!} in order to feel more daytime appropriate. I also think this relaxed fit cardigan {btw this cardigan is now on sale!} makes this dress look more casual. Instead of a slip dress, you could try a nude slip skirt. It would look the same with a sweater on, but you could also pair it with lighter tops in the spring.
I really appreciate how versatile both slip dresses and cardigans are. They are great pieces for mixing and matching with your wardrobe. If you’re looking to add a little bit of pattern and texture to your look, this Free People cardigan is on sale and is super cute. Abercrombie & Fitch has also been hosting a ton of sales on winter styles lately, and I have to say, they are killing it at their knitwear game! So many cute and affordable options.
I have been loving neutral outfits lately. So chic and so easy! But I thought this clutch, while still neutral, would add a little warmth to this look. It also happens to be on sale which is pretty darn convenient! Another fun way to do neutrals is with a print. This slip dress is still a great neutral shade, but has a really pretty subtle leopard print which is so in style right now!

I feel like this look would also be perfect for a winter baby shower, or a winter bridal shower. Especially in a pretty pastel shade. I can’t believe wedding season is right around the corner!
