August Edit: Holiday Gifts on Sale

Alright I know it seems a bit too early to be to be shopping for holiday gifts, but hear me out! Every year during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, I like to pick up a few holiday gifts. There’s a few reasons why. For starters, Nordstrom is super good about returns, so I can ask for gift receipts and know that if the recipient wants to exchange my gift they can do so without hassle. It sounds harsh to expect people to return gifts, but being able to is especially important if you’re giving someone clothing or home goods that may not fit or work with their home. These cute pjs are a great example! They sell out super quickly during the sale every year and who doesn’t love getting a fresh set of pajamas during the holidays? But of course if they don’t fit, they’ll need to be exchanged!

I really like stocking up on sets during this sale because they can be split up into great mini holiday gifts. Diptyque candles are normally such a splurge but for around $50 you could split up this set and gift five girlfriends, neighbors, or co-workers a candle in a little gift bag with cookies or other fun holiday items. So affordable, but still feels really special! The same theory applies for beauty sets, like this fun lipstick duo or this perfume set.

Overall, I think it’s really worth looking through the sale to see if anything catches your eyes for potential gifts. You’ll be so happy when the holidays roll around and you already have a jumpstart! This mixology set is perfect for the loved one who misses going out to try new craft cocktails on the weekends. And these super pretty and timeless earrings are a safe bet for almost any lady in your life! This electric kettle is so chic and everyone is obsessed with Smeg appliances right now, so it’s sure to a crowd-pleaser during the chilly winter months!

July Edit: Picnic Ready

Hey everyone, how have you all been? Recently I have been seeing more and more posts of cute picnic set ups, and now I really want to have one with my family at the park or for a cute date night down by the beach at sunset! You can find cute picnic baskets to pack with snacks, some pretty wine glasses, and a cold bottle of rose – so summery and fun! You can even turn your picnic into a full meal. Pack dinner or some appetizer like snacks to put out, like this perfect summer spinach salad! I’ve also been seeing these yummy looking charcuterie boards that would be perfect to bring, because wine and cheese are never a bad idea, lol!

On warm days I always go for a lightweight dress, and this one here has adorable tie detailing around the waist that is super flattering. It is also midi length so it’s perfect for sitting down on a blanket. A cute printed blouse with small puff sleeves is always a good option too and I love that this one wraps around and ties on the side. For summer accessories, I have my eyes on these cute sunnies with big frames and these neutral slide on sandals. A fun printed purse adds a nice pop to any outfit and I love basically all the straw bags. Don’t forget to pack a picnic blanket to lay on the grass or sand and lay your set up on!

June Edit: Weekend Getaway Style

I don’t know about all of you, but I sure am ready for a weekend getaway! I’m not sure when that will realistically happen, but a girl can dream right? I would love to not worry about cooking, cleaning up the house, and just enjoy some time away from home. A change of scenery sounds absolutely lovely! While I may not be going anywhere soon, I already have some weekend getaway style items picked out that would be perfect for a weekend away this summer.

Anyone else craving some time relaxing by a pool? I love carrying a large straw tote that fits my towel, cute sunglasses, water bottle, and a good book! I have been on the search for new swimwear and found this adorable printed bikini top with matching bottoms, I love how retro the checkered pattern looks. When the days are extra warm, I like to tie my hair up with a hair scarf. There are seriously so many ways to style your hair with a scarf as shown in this cute headscarf book. Or you can always grab a trendy straw hat to shade your face!

After being in the sun all day, I prefer wearing a flowy midi dress, this one here can easily be worn casually or dressed up for a nicer dinner out. Throw on some chunky gold earrings and a fun pair of heeled sandals and you are ready to go! You all probably know how much I love the Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 Foundation {you can see my review here!} so I am really happy to find that they have an illuminator stick. It is verified clean at Sephora and you can easily highlight your face on the go to give a nice glowy effect! This is a perfect addition to a minimal summer makeup look!
