Gift Guide: For the Little Ones

Oh baby! Could this gift guide for kids be any cuter?! Seriously, I’ve been working on quite a few gift guides this year and this has to be my favorite one. Why? Well, gifts for children are just too darn adorable. Because Augustine is only two and we have a baby girl on the way, most of these gifts are for babies and toddlers, but I wanted to include a few that could work for older kids like this inspiring book about women in science or this guitar. However, if you’re giving any musical instruments to children who aren’t yours, you might want to run them by mom and dad first! They might not enjoy the gift of music as much as their little one does lol!

Augustine loves playing in his toy kitchen {which we keep in our real kitchen!} so I thought this toast set and pizza set might be a fun addition for him! For a new baby, it’s hard to resist gifting anything super snuggly. This baby bunting, bunny, and blanket would be cozy for baby and appreciated by mom.

If you’re looking for inexpensive stocking stuffers or gifts, bows like this set or these adorable fox ones are easy to keep on hand. For the boys, a little knitted cap or in this case crown would do the trick! But for a splurge, this giant giraffe would put a smile on any kid’s face!

Gift Guide: For the Hostess

With Thanksgiving almost a week away I’ve been thinking a lot of about entertaining and home decor, in general. I wanted to start off my 2018 Gift Guides with one for the hostess. We all have that special lady in our life who knows how to throw a really good party! She’s basically the Martha Stewart of your friend group and knows her way around a chic table setting. Whether you simply want to give her a holiday gift this year or don’t want to show up empty-handed at her fabulous New Year’s Eve party, you’ll have to find the perfect gift for your hostess!

Honestly I think hostess gifts are one of the easier ones to check off my list. Why? To start, they clearly are passionate about entertaining, but it isn’t so specific of a hobby that you have to be an expert on the subject to know what would make a good gift. Secondly, the perfect hostess gifts also happen to be really darn cute. I mean look at these adorable bread printed accent plates or these cute dog inspired dishtowels!

A great cheese board or serving tray is something you can pick up in almost any home store (or Target!). You can also gift her something that makes her job as a hostess easier, like this chic wine cooler that will look great on display and keep wine perfectly chilled. Speaking of wine, she would have a blast making mulled wine with this easy kit! And even if she already has some, I’m sure she’d appreciate a few extra champagne coupes on hand for future parties. I love that these coupes have a monogram on them, they would be such a sweet gift for newlyweds too!

One of my favorite gifts to give the hostess with the mostess is this book, All in Good Taste, from Kate Spade. It’s full of great entertaining tips and will look so pretty on her coffee table. Plus, Kate Spade offers the most gorgeous free gift wrapping when you shop in store. I’d pair this book with these yummy truffles because, considering how hard she works, she deserves a little treat just for her!

I wanted to include some small items in this guide that would be super affordable to keep on hand for any last minute hostess gifts. These pretty matches come in a few fun shades, a foodie will love this unique salt set, and who wouldn’t want to drink their morning coffee out of this adorable mug?!

13 Father’s Day Gifts Picked by a Real Dad

G’Day, Readers! It’s your 9th favorite blogger husband here, Matthew. I continually get blackmailed into writing these gift guides, but since I have to do it, I might as well show you some of my favorite Father’s Day gifts that I think your husband/dad/grandpa or whoever else you celebrate for Father’s Day might like too. Enjoy!

1. J.Crew Magic Wallet
My brother got me into this. It’s legit. When I don’t need my huge wallet with my Costco, AAA, and stinky fart record holders membership cards, I can streamline my operation.

2. Black Weekender Bag
Get him a real weekender bag. It will force him to pack less.

3. Leatherman Wave Multi-Tool
This is useful, period. He can keep it in the car or in the utility drawer. A good multi-tool is always on my gift guides.

4. Sperry Kicks
Just in case he needs new summer shooz.

5. A Thought Provoking Book
Teach a man to read…and he’ll read on planes or when he’s at the DMV.

6. Osprey Baby Carrier
Hiking is either a solo thing where you focus your chi, or a great excursion with family or friends. Now you can bring your crying toddler to ruin it.

7. Pour Over Coffee Kit
Pour over coffees are delicious. If the guy in your life relies on caffeine like I do, he’ll definitely enjoy a better tasting cup of joe.

8. Home Brewing Beer Kit
I brewed all of the beer served at our wedding many moons ago (all 40 gallons). My love for brewing started from a single home brew kit from my lil Mara. I highly recommend. It will at least give dad an intro to soup cooking.

9. Four Sigmatic Mushroom Coffee
Dissolves amazingly and is super smooth. My choice for “splurge” instant coffee. It also contains magic mushrooms.

10. Classic Sunglasses
These sunnies are dope. I want these for my own collection.

11. Weber Portable Mini Grill
Does your dude like to host BBQs away from his large stationary home BBQ? This is easy, compact, and good for weenie roasting at the beach.

12. Short Sleeved Chambray Shirt
Easy choice for it’s comfort and low risk style. My high risk choice is the mankini.

13. Portable Hammock
Teach a man to relax in a hammock and he’ll either read or sleep. My current ratio is 10% read to 90% sleep. Thank you, Dr. Seuss.

P.S. Check out one of my past Father’s Day gift picks for even more gift ideas!

Have a great weekend everyone!!
