Happy New Year friends! I’m so happy to be back posting. It was hard to take a break, but also easy at the same time. I think I really needed the time away, to be offline and be present with my family during the holidays. The season was way too short, don’t you agree? I’ll be chatting more tomorrow about my New Year’s goals and resolutions, but today I wanted to chat hair! The new year is the perfect opportunity to try new things, especially when we’re post-holidays and in the middle of winter. This time of year is always a hard one to adjust too but that’s why I like to try new things, like new hair colors {I recently went darker} and new hair accessories. Today I’m sharing 3 easy ways to update your hair for winter that will hopefully make you that much more excited to go into 2018. Let’s do this!

THE HEADBAND

I feel like headbands have always been in style from Audrey Hepburn to Blair Waldorf. These women have rocked headbands from the beginning. Even though I don’t wear headbands as much on a day to day basis, they really do add something fun to an outfit. As soon as I found this headband with a large pink bow, I was obsessed! The headband almost looks like you tied a large bow in your hair!

What’s so great about headbands is how they work with your hair styled multiple ways – in a ponytail, down, or even in a bun. I paired this headband with my loose every day curls, but it would look gorgeous in an updo, too! Say for Valentine’s Day? That’s the next holiday I’m looking forward to! Below I’m sharing a few other favorite headbands I think are so pretty and will help update your winter hair.

THE HAT

Berets are in and I couldn’t be more excited. I think this type of hat is always such a classic, but I love that this one has the fun pearl details. Pearls are also very classic and ladylike, but the addition on the beret makes them more modern. This beret was the perfect touch for my French-inspired look the other week! Hat options are great to have on hand because sometimes you need something extra to add to an outfit, or you forget you’re on day 3 hair and need a cover-up {anyone else?}!  Some of my favorite styles right now are berets, pom beanies and of course a floppy hat!

THE HAIR TIE

The most minimal touch to update your hair this winter could be a cute hair tie. I hadn’t thought much about adding these to my hair but, once I did, I can see why they’re so popular right now. Seriously how cute is this bow hair tie? Love the sequin one too! It makes a basic ponytail so much more polished. What I also love about this hair tie detailing is that it hides the look of a regular ponytail holder. It makes it looks like you spent more time on your hair than you really did. And to make things even easier, here’s a black bow barrette that has the same look!

Although most of the fancier hair ties I have come across are bows, there are some pretty ones with metal detailing for a more modern look.
