The Things I Can’t Wait to Do with Corinna

Mommy daughter time is the best! - M Loves M @marmar

Can you believe it’s been one whole year since our gender reveal?! I remember being so incredibly surprised to find out we were having a girl. Even though I had first thoughts the baby was a girl, I was really convinced we were having a boy. My first trimester symptoms were the same as with Augustine too! I guess it just goes to show you that your baby’s gender is 50/50 thing!

Now that Corinna is here I feel like I can’t help but daydream about all the fun things we’ll do together as mother and daughter. Of course, there are so many things I’m excited to do with Augustine too, but you know I love the girly girl things. My Augustine will definitely be included but some things as a mother and daughter will be so special, and it will remind me of the sweet times my mom and I had together growing up.

The Things I Can’t Wait to Do with Corinna

Read her my favorite stories- This one is high up on my list. I grew up loving so many books {I was an English major too!}. Little House on the Prairie, Sweet Valley High, Nancy Drew, Anne of Green Gables, Jane Austen, Madeline, Ella Enchanted! I have so many favorites! I can’t wait to reread so many of these books with her

Go See a Musical Together- I loooove musicals! That little tidbit actually used to be on the sidebar of my first M Loves M template (back in 2009!) My favorites are Oklahoma!, Singin’ in the Rain, White Christmas, Wicked, My Fair Lady, South Pacific, Mamma Mia!, Guys & Dolls… alright I think you get the idea. Anyway, going to see a musical LIVE together will be amazing. I know I’ll cry! Oh yeah, Grease is another fave and I totally cried watching that live!

Play with our American Girl dolls– I LOVED my American Girl Dolls. Felicity was my favorite but I also had Samantha and Kirsten. My best friend Lizzie and I would play with our dolls growing up and I can’t wait to do the same with Corinna. She can even have some of my old ones. Felicity was very well-loved {think knotted hair and drawn on braces!} but Kirsten’s hair is still in braids. And I think I have a Bitty Baby hanging around too!

Tea Parties- Even today, I love tea parties! My favorite sandwich growing up was cream cheese and cucumber and it all started from a tea party. I can’t wait to sit around and drink hot cocoa/almond milk with Corinna and munch on cookies and tiny sandwiches cut into triangles. And you know our American Girls will be at the table too!

First Manicure- I loved getting a mani/pedi with mom (still do!) and this will be something so exciting to do with Corinna, especially her first time! I wonder if she’ll pick a sparkly color like I always did!

Bake- This is something I already LOVE to do with Augustine but I can’t wait to do it more as I have two little helpers in the kitchen. You all know I have a major sweet tooth, so baking cookies and cakes together is going to be so much fun!

Sing & Dance- When I was little I would sing and dance every single day! That sadly stopped for a long while, but actually I’ve sung every day since having Augustine. We sing before bedtime, but also during the day. Augustine is a big fan of country music! I can’t wait to sing Disney songs with Corinna and dance around in poufy princess dresses!! I bet she’ll have a beautiful voice like her Dada!

Mommy & Daughter Sleepover- I can’t wait to have a little getaway just the two of us where we can cuddle in robes, watch movies, eat popcorn and laugh together. And you know we’ll have to take some fun and silly selfies too!

Teach her that she’s capable of anything she sets her mind too- My parents were so good about loving and encouraging all my passions and interests. I want Corinna to know how special and capable she is, that she has a family that loves and supports her and will always be by her side. I love my little girl so much and I hope she always feels that in her heart! I also want her to feel God’s deep love for her and know that her worth is so much deeper than she realizes.

I know there are several other things I can’t wait to do with my girl, but these are the ones I can’t stop thinking about lately! Are any of you girl mamas and have things you can’t wait to do with your daughter? Or what about with your sons? I think I need to develop a list for Augustine too!! I know Matthew has a big one for things he can’t wait to do with Augustine – like camping and surfing!
