At the beginning of every new season, I like to do two things. Create a seasonal bucket list and dream up my style wishlist. Honestly, I don’t know which one is more fun! This season I’m investing in some classic wardrobe pieces and adding a few affordable fun styles into the mix. I’m not immune to all of the summer trends I see on Instagram! But for the most part I do try to focus mostly on high quality pieces I can see myself wearing for many years to come. So without further ado, here is my summer wishlist!

My Summer Trends Wishlist

Short Sleeve Button Down

After styling a short sleeved button down with a skirt recently, I realized that while I own a lot of long sleeve button downs, I don’t really have any short sleeve ones. My long sleeve button downs are such a wardrobe staple for me that it only makes sense that I invest in some shorter styles for summer.

Light Chambray Shirt

Chambray shirts are another staple in my wardrobe, they’re just so classic and versatile. But for summer I want to lighten things up. I love the lighter shade of this shirt and I think it will looks so cute and fresh with white jeans.

Cotton Pants

Another outfit I loved recently was this one I wore with cotton pants. When it comes down to it, I prefer skirts and dresses. But as a mom, jeans are just so easy. I’ve decided that cotton pants will not only be cooler and more comfortable, but will make my casual looks a little more unique.

High Quality Tank Top

Each season I try to think of which basics I need to stock up on. The older I get, the more and more quality pieces I want to invest in. I used to think items like basic tank tops weren’t worth investing in, but I was wrong. I’ll be adding a few new high-quality tank tops to my wardrobe this year. How pretty is the tied back on this one?!

Wide Headband

I’m ready to get retro this summer! I always try to skip heat styling my hair when it’s hot out. Not only does air drying my hair keep me cool, it also gives my hair a nice break from damaging styling tools. Enter the wide headband. It keeps the hair off my face, looks cute, and allows me to skip the curling iron.

Gold Hoop Earrings

Another one of the retro summer trends I’m planning on embracing is chunky gold hoop earrings. I love that they’re simpler than a statement earring but stand out more than a traditional thinner hoop earring.

Layered Gold Necklace

Another piece of jewelry I have my eye on is, pre-layered gold necklaces. I love the layered look, but when I’m rushing to get ready I can’t be bothered to try to find necklaces that match and are the right lengths for layering. That’s why I love how easy these layered necklace sets are!

Neutral Suede Slide

Is it safe to say slides are the new ballet flats? They’re such a staple piece in my wardrobe now, but most of the pairs I have are in fun colors. I’d love a neutral suede pair that I can wear in summer and fall. This neutral shade would match most outfits!

Colorful Cross Body Bag

Unlike my colorful slides collection, most of my crossbody bags are in neutral shades. I love the idea of having a fun colored crossbody bag I could use to dress up casual outfits. This berry color is just too pretty and will work well in any season.

Summer Maxi Dress

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, or even a few days, you’ve probably noticed that I love pretty, feminine dresses! I am so drawn to maxi dresses in the summer and the print on this dress stopped me in my tracks. It would be perfect for a summer wedding or even for a nice date night! This dress is another gorgeous option that’s really similar!
