Easy Side Dish Recipes for the 4th
This recipe is actually borrowed from the Tone It Up Meal Plan. It’s called the “Beat the Bloat Beet Salad.” Even though it’s healthy, it’s incredibly delicious. I never would have thought to shred raw beets before but it’s a great way to get in those nutrients. The beets taste amazing with the carrots and the apple and I love the crunch from the sunflower seeds. One really cool thing about this salad is that the beets change the apples to a pink color too. It’s a really gorgeous salad– whether you make it for a summer bbq or just meal prep it for weekday lunches! If you try this beet salad, you’ll have to let me know what you think! Side note: The TIU meal plan is amazing and totally worth it if you’ve considered doing it in the past. I love the TIU community and they’re always inspiring me when it comes to fitness and a healthy lifestyle.
