I’m so excited to share today’s post because it’s our favorite vegetarian chili recipe. I grew up having chili every year during fall, most notably on the night of Halloween. It became a family tradition, and it’s one that Matthew and I keep up now. We always look forward to our chili nights, especially after a cold fall or winter day.
The one thing we always do differently is serve our chili on top of a bowl of spaghetti. This is a Cincinnati tradition apparently, and while Matthew and I don’t have family members from Ohio, we’ve embraced this pairing wholeheartedly. If you’ve never had your chili on top of spaghetti, you’re in for a treat! Just top it with grated cheese, some fresh onions and hot sauce, if you like of course!

October Edit: Fall Colors & Fabrics
Did you all know that October is my favorite month of the year? I mean obviously, I am always excited about Halloween! Did you see our family’s Halloween costumes from last year? They are so cute! I can’t wait to share what we’re going as this year—stay tuned! But Halloween is not the only reason I love October, it’s because in California (born and raised!) it’s when it finally starts to feel like fall. We just got our first bit of rain last weekend and you can believe I used it as a chance to embrace sweater weather.
In honor of my favorite month, I devoted this month’s edit to my favorite fall colors and fabrics! Based on my recent outfits, it probably comes as no surprise that I couldn’t resist this beautiful burgundy bag. It reminded me of the beautiful, rich shades in the new Urban Decay Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette which I’ve been loving lately. Think of it as the perfect fall version of the classic Naked Eyeshadow Palette.
Of course, I’m a fan of plaid and checkered prints in the fall. I’m torn between these loafers and this skirt!This scarf isn’t shown above, but I’ve been wearing it a ton lately. What can I say? I’m mad about plaid! I also really love the striped pattern on this scarf, the burnt orange shade just screams fall.
